Hi all,
I want to carry a simple pry bar with a pocket clip and with a bottle opener. All I see are custom ones sold for $200 plus. Why such simple idea is sooo outrageously expensive. (titanium ect....)

Well, if anybody sees one for $50 or less please advise.

Thanks,
bigc

Boker makes a couple small pry tools that I like. Not sure I remember seeing any with a traditional knife style pocket clip. But both of these could be adapted for different types of carry. And both can be found for well under your price point.

The first one is the Boker Vox Access. I haven't purchased this model yet, but would like to soon. It is titanium with simple pry functionality. It's the clip portion that works as the bottle opener.

The next is the Boker Toucan in 440c, and I do carry this one every day. But on a secondary (utility) key chain. My main keychain has car, home, work keys, and a Leatherman Ps4. Second one has mini light, Toucan, and tiny flash drive. One of the reasons I really like this one is that it not only has a small pry function and bottle opener, but also has enough sharpened blade to handle simple cutting tasks.

David Sharp @ Sharpwerks makes a pry bar that you can get with a pocket clip and it has a bottle opener.

Oh, and there's also the Gerber Shard that can be had for under $10. Not titanium or super steel, but does the job. And cheap enough to just give to anyone that says, "hey, that's handy, where'd you get it?"

Home Depot has a paint can opener with a bottle opener for between $2 to $5. I forget the exact price, mine is at least 7 years old.
No pocket clip, but I suppose you could get a small carabiner to put through the bottle opener and use a belt loop carry.

I used a Pocket Tool Works one that works well because you can loop it to anything easily. I have been using it for over a year now everyday and it serves my purpose well. Quality is excellent.

Hi all,
When I first started looking all I would find are discontinued or very very expensive customs like these:
http://www.monkeyedge.com/Hinderer-HS-TacTool-Titanium-Flamed-Textured-p/rhk0623-mb130.htm

But now I have gotten lucky and have 2 options

I saw there are two members on this forum selling these. The first one is 2.5inches at Tisurvival and only $50.......(pictured one is closer to $60~$70) but plain Titanium just $50

Nearly 4 inch long and the one I like better since it would allow better purchase

A lot of great links and ideas.

I definitely looked at all of them and am still leaning towards a pocket clip variant but at least 3.5~4in long.

Thank you,
bigC

I looked everywhere and don't see an option with pocket clip. The vendors that sell his prybuddies don't show or have any variants with pocket clips either. They are pretty darn cool especially the XL 4inch one. I think you order by emailing the guy.

I am on the wait list to purchase the Casey PryBar with pocket clip now so hopefully next month I get my paws on one.

again, thank you all for the suggestions.

i recommend a ti shark from eos cases on instagram. its just a keychain prybar with a hex bit slot if you need it and its like 20 bucks out of ti.

Wow, I really like those. I'm tempted to dump my cheap pry tools (and a few knives), for a couple of them. Especially the multi colored one. I'm a sucker for non-essential sparkly things. Dang, I make a couple suggestions for cheap tools, and now I'm going to lose my wallet buying everyone else's suggestions. [emoji16]

I am doing home renovations for the next couple months and the Casey prybar has a nail puller in front plus its a mini prybar so that alone makes it worth its weight in gold. Then the fact that the prybar itself has a deep pocket carry clip and the Ti slab is almost identical to the Small Sebenza is kinda a perfect size. Well, than of course the bottle opener to open up a cold beer after a long day

For home renovations you might want to consider something a bit larger than a pocket prybar. I've found the most useful and convenient prybar to be a minimum of 18 to 24 inches. Stanley makes a couple nice ones of flat bar stock in this size range.
A mini pocket prybar is not going to give you the leverage or length, to pull a nail, or do much more than open a can of paint or wood stain. At least that has been my experience over the last 45 odd years.
If you want a paint can opener with a bottle opener on one end, Home Depot and Lowes both have one for under $5.00. Just carry it in one of the screwdriver slots of your carpenter tool belt.

Agreed a full size nail puller but I am referring to those odd times when you don't have the full size counterpart and just need it in a pinch.
The Home Depot wrench bottle opener is one I been wanting for a while too. I think Craftman makes it.

I carry a 5" Stiletto in titanium when I need to do the grunt work, I won't inflict upon one my high end folders.
It's got the pry, nail puller, bottle opener and on the top right corner is a small box cutter that's sharp enough to open packages and the like.
There's no pocket clip but slides easily and comfortably in the front pocket. Made a leather sheath for the piece that protrudes out. $50.
