Who sharpens Emersons?

I'll admit it: I have not yet picked up the knack of sharpening my Emerson mini-CQC-7. It is to the point that I am willing to trade or sell this knife!

But, before I do anything rash, does anyone know of a place I can send the knife to get it sharpened? I checked the Emerson web site and do not see that service offered.

Other than figuring this out, the knife is virtually indestructable and just feels great in the hand! ;)

Thanks for any advice. Hopefully, some day I will figure this out. Until then, I still want a sharp knife.

That's great! Thanks for the links and the research. ;) Looking forward to having a sharp knife again.

Did your knife come with a brochure? When i got my full-size CQC7, it came with a sheet of illustrated instructions that recommended using a plain old stone. I've had good luck with a Gatco Tri-Seps sharpener. (It's one of the little "dog bone" style.) I follow the stone with a quick strop on a piece of cardboard. The back of a legal pad is what I normally use. This has maintained a good edge on my knife for four years now. Of course, it helps to not let the knife get too aawful dull in the first place....

Therein lies the rub. :( Thanks for the encouragement. Perhaps when I get my knife back, sharp, I can practice more precisely. Surely, I can learn this!
