I have a 2 3/4 inch, fixed-blade, guthook style knife with a brown micarta handle.

It is very heavy, thick and looks very well made.

I'd guess it between 20 and 30 years old.

It has a heavy, high-quality brown basket-weave sheath with a winged horse on the back as its only marking.

The only marking on the knife is a K in a circle (actually an oval a little higher than wide).

It is placed on the blade where it meets the handle.

Anybody know who made it or anything else about it?

Gosh, didn't think I'd need a pic.......are there that many such K stamps?

Maybe it is quite uncommon and I'll never know who made it.

Whoever it was, I wish I had more of his work.

If you send me an image of the knife, and one of the mark, I'll put it in the touchmark gallery with your cantact information so that if someone recognizes it, they can contact you and tell you who it is.

of course, the real problem isn't in the number of stamps, but rather, the number of makers, no telling if the guy just made one nice knife, or he was set up for production making 100 knives a week.

your knife may have been made by Walt Kneubuehler. Spelling may be wrong but I believe that might have been his mark.

And where is Walt from, do you know?

I guess I'll start working on the production of a picture, too.....just in case.

Thanks for the replies.

Finally got a pic.....hope somebody has seen something like this before.

Any and all info will be appreciated.

Any ideas now that we have a pic?

Any theories?

Any evaluations of the knife aside from the maker?

All responses appreciated.
