Most of us remember our first knife that we got. When I was around 8, my grandpa gave me a knife that his dad owned. It was a fixed blade hunting knife, but not one of those tactical pig stickers. This has a layered wood handle, with a full tang blade with a clip point. Do you still have your first knife? If so post some pictures please. I'll put the pictures of mine in later.

For many years my first knife was lost to me. This was a sore spot for me because it was very important to me. When I was a young'un my grandpa gave me an old Barlow. It was old and beat up but that knife was in my pocket for most of my childhood. I lost it at some point and it damn near broke my heart. When Pappy passed 2 years ago I mentioned the knife to my mom and she remembered seeing it. About 6 months ago she found it and it brought a tear to my eye. It's just a beat up old Imperial Barlow but it means more to me than any other knife I own.

I've lost count of the knives I've lost. The first I remember was a nice SAK, which disappeared somewhere in a ravine the day I got it, around age 9 or 10. (Sob!) I still feel a pang when I remember that.

I guess my first knife was my fixed blade Western Boy Scout knife. Still have it, but the sheath disappeared long ago. Wish I could find someone to make me another one.

I do, a small slipjoint with red, plastic handle. I was 5 or 6 yo when I bought it :)

Still have it! A little Swiss Army Knife with my initials engraved in the handle. I keep it safe so I don't lose it.

heck i still carry mine very time I go fishing, its an old Ireland knife, only one that i carry with a combo edge

Laminated K.J. Eriksson Mora "scout" knife, curly birch handle, double guard, steel pommel cap. It was given to my father by my grandfather (the guy I inherited the "knife guy" gene from) as a gift and he kept it in his tool box. I kept stealing it out of there and stabbing bottle caps back when I was in kindergarten. It was the first knife that ever cut me and I still have it.

Still remember like it was yesterday as my Mom bought me 2 Knives at Sears and I still have one of them as I never used it as it was to small to cut anything and it does have Craftsman stamped in the side of the SS Handle and it looks brand new and a Safe Queen for sure.! It was 61 years old this past Xmas and in a hxllava lot better shape than I am.! The Sheath knife she bought with it is long gone many years ago and I would about 50 or so years gone.! Oh well.*

I still cherish my first knife, a 1966 army issue pocket knife my dad carried in Viet Nam. It looks as good as it did in '66, I treat like a custom...lol

I still have my first knife given to me by my grandfather - a Queen barlow. That was 60+ years ago and I haven't been without a knife since.
