Just received papers from my Sirupati. Its on its way from customs, but it have been fight to get it from there.
Havent been long on the way, maybe 9-10 days. NO problems with that part.
But enclosed letter showed, that I shall declare, whatever I want to sell the thing (been asked for my licence for mercantilia) and whatever the price is higher than 10 000 EUR.
(On the delivery papers enclosed was written: PRICE50$)
Oh my!!!! After 2 thats TWO hours on phone I got the line to a person in charge and explained that its simply the ware I bought on internet store.

Hopefuly it will come soon. I m not so choleric as I used to be 10 years ago, but such things really dont improve my attitude. :)

Patience my friend. :D

I got the same papers twice. Had to go to customs each time to tell them the same story. They just do not answer the phone, being very 'busy' :(

First time they charged me just for tax, the second time they discovered some law and charged me for customs fee too. It made about 38% in total in this case.

BTW How is that my bow developing? Cannot wait.

Been working today first time on that cleaner bow stave. 5 hours total, got it to clean unbroken back ring.
Thats the start.
I m projecting this one for 50 lbs drawweight and the other, beeing of denser wood for 65#.

The other stave has some character, so it will be alot more work to do with this one.

If everything goes fine, I ll get the one bow past weekend finnish. (Off course that means in MY ENGLISH , that the bow will be finished!) :D

I paid about 120.00 Euro to release a Gelbu Special I purchased on one of Yangdu's sales! Othertimes, things go through without being held up in the Dogana (customs); go figure...

I just had about $1000 of automobile accessories go through without paying a dime (a Euro dime at that!). :D

I recently got several keris from a dealer in Australia. The best piece was a wonderful old Bugis. Customs had opened the package, there was "CUSTOMS" tape all over it.

The Bugis keris had been unwrapped from the bubble wrap and a large chunk broken off the handle. I know because it was the only one that had been removed from the bubble wrap. Each keris had been carefully wrapped when it left Australia.

This one was stuffed back in the package and the bubble wrap beside it. No attempt was made to put it back in the wrapping! Morons!

To make matters worse, the piece was missing. This keris had survived over two hundred years in Indonesia and this hamfisted moron broke it!

As mad as I was, the dealer was madder. "Postal" is a good term. It took about 6 months to settle the insurance. Fortunately he had insured it at market value.

AND while I am on the subject, FedEX just delivered a Portuguese rail cannon that is about 500 years old. It was wrapped in a PVC PIPE! The idiots dropped it hard enough to break open a PVC PIPE, so well sealed that the pipe broke in the middle. The ends were intact.

Broke the front sight off! The hole in the pipe was so big that the piece fell out and is gone.

We are making a claim on this ALSO. I asked them if the airplane carrying it crashed? I can't think of any other way something this well packed could be smashed open.

This cannon survived pirate battles, being traded to various owners, being sunk to the bottom of the ocean for a few hundred years.

500 years of hard living and FedUp, excuse me FedEx, knocked off the freaking front site! It was marked "Fragile" but I guess they thought that was a foreign country!

You know you're a knife-knut when you see a thread titled "Who thinks that customs are idiots?" and immediately think to yourself, "How can custom-made knives be idiots?". Or perhaps I just shouldn't read the forums so early in the morning.

Sorry to hear about that canon Bill. Everytime I wander with my warbow and arrows by aircraft, I m swelling what I ll get on destination place. I m having hard packages for both out of PVS tubes, but they can destroy anything. :)))

Considering the contex, the title could have a bit more clear.
I thought the same thing.
Especially when I read the first line about H.I. kuk, I thought to myself, this guy is going to ramble able the price of customs when you can get an H.I., etc, etc..... (glad he didn't)

Since there's been discussions about customs before (usually not too favorable towards), ;) on the forum, I knew what the title was about.
