Getting up there in age with a lot of knives, but I have a drawing / knife design I did in 1975. I would like to consult, have it made, and hold it in my hand. I will need to email a photo of my drawing and preferably discuss on line in terms of practical issues, steel and grip material. I have had customs done in years past. I do not believe this will require exotic materials, but the grinds are a bit fussy. Because of the age factor, though my health is good, a lengthy period from agreement / deposit to completion would likely be a disqualifier. Thanks in advance.

Can we see the drawing? And what is your budget ceiling?

Both of those things can really help get you pointed in the right direction.

Unfortunately, I can't post images for a variety of reasons. That is the explaination for the " I will need to email a photo of my drawing and preferably discuss on line." As to budget, negotiable - no idea what the going rate for custom work is these days. I have bought a Randall not that long ago for perspective.

I suspect you're not getting much response because the field of makers, styles AND price range is so vast, people have no idea where to begin.

Respectfully, you've given us absolutely nothing to go on to help.

Your best bet at this point is to Google "handmade fixed blade/fighter knife", look at images and find a style that moves you and contact the maker and see what shakes out.

We're willing to help, but we need at least some direction.

I certain may not be the most qualified for this commission, but I'm willing to take a look to see if its along the lines of the sort of knives I want to make.
My email address and website are in my signature below if you wish to look at the work I'm doing and contact me.
