Out of absolute curiosity I ordered a Large Dyad and received it yesterday. Does anybody else have one of these?
I was mildly interested in it's utilitarian uses, but I was really curious regarding it's tactical applications.
Right off the bat I noticed that the handful of hump for the thumb hole will probably limit just how hard you can use the knife for utility purposes. It's pretty uncomfortable to get a full on grip of the knife with that big hump in the way.
My second test was to see if inertial openings would work. With a tremendous effort I was able to get the serrated blade to open. But the clip point wouldn't even come close. Of course it's not meant to so you can't criticize the knife or the company for that.
As a matter of fact, a couple drops of that White Lightning lubricant made this one of the smoothest operating multiblade folders I have.Howsomever, I've been working with thumb deployments of both blades, opening the serrated blade first, twirling it and then opening the clip point.
I'm sorry Sal, I'm sure you're probably shaking your head and muttering to yourself, but the idea of a double ended knife which combines forward and reverse grip just fascinates me.
That serrated edge blade really works well for the reverse grip hooking and slashing. Then you combine that with the point and edge work offered by the clip point blade and the potential versatility just amazes me!
Move over Gunting and let a real knife slice!!
Of course, there is that pesky issue of deployment. Anybody out there got any suggestions?

All you need is love... a sharp blade and a full clip
