It looks like something Jim Siska would make, but I've not seen that exact knife anywhere that I can remember.

So, are you guys suggesting he ask Siska or Brend to make the knife, or are you just trying to prove he copied the design? I mean, he just extended an open invitation to any maker interested in the project- he's not applying for a patent on it.

It has some similarities to a few knives, so what? Lots of knives out there look a little like something that has been made before. I don't know who will make it for you, but I really like the lines on that design. Very smooth.

Horus,
Holy crap! I think you copied that design from me...I once made a knife with a blade and a handle..... :D :D

Just kidding. I do like the design. The blade and handles flow very well, "nice lines." While the design is reminicent of some other makers styles I have not seen this design before.

Interesting design, handle on one end and blade on the other.....just kidding of course, knife designs are rather limited and similarities are unavoidable so ignore anyone who doesn't like it. They couldn't do any better given that knives have been around for so long and most designs have been tried out somewhere or sometime.

Just to be clear-

I wasn't throwing stones at the design. I've tried to make a few that look like that myself...it's tough to grind those lines well.

I was just providing a photo that (hopefully) demonstrated why some people thought it looked 'Brendish".

FWIW, great designs leave ripples through their respective communities, with elements becoming part of the 'standard' repetoire-look at Loveless' drop point hunters, or the Big Bear. Brend has entered the lexicon in a similar way, and that's (I think) a tribute to the man.

"It looks like...."

Well between this thread and horus's original thread I counted 9 different makers it is supposed to look like - so who "copied" who

Of course it and all those others have a similarity in shape to the grandaddy of them all the Greek kopis

Horus - since you're looking for a maker why not post this over in Shoptalk - wher a lot of maker's hang out? - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=741

Hope you can find someone to bring that into fruition, that's a nice-looking knife!

I really like the design of this knife with the spacers and overall flow as pictured by Horus.

I wish I had the skill to draw up or make any knife. Actually, I have a picture of my first prototypes.

Dylan,
that knife looks one HECK of a lot like Randall's Sasquatch knife.
Take a look.......
there's usually a couple on eBay,
and others elsewhere, of course.
.
I'm not saying anyone copied anything, I'm just saying, if you like that design, you'll be able to appreciate the Randall model.
No malice intented. Please don't hurt me. :(

I was going to say that; little Sasquatch with 8 inch blade, but there are a lot of knives that look similar. :)

Walking Man/ RGRAY

you are right, there is no significant difference to the Randall’s Sasquatch knife! Very frustating, but thanks for your expertise!

Also many thanks for the makers offers.

Horus

Horus, the handle that you drew is different from the others.
If that's what you like, and you want it from a specific maker,
go for it!!!!
