So you guys were drooling and wondering what was going on with this pic from a week ago -

So - after some wait, here is what I was talking about -

SAM_0859.jpg

What you are looking at is a set of Warren Chemical Axes from late 1800s to 1950 - anything from 1915 to 1950 is dated on the axe - and there are 6 that are pre 1915 and not dated. Also notice all puget sound pattern - so these are all from the west coast.

Sorry for the wait - enjoy.

Freakin' fantastic collection! You got them from the same person/dealer I assume. I also spy some tasty old labels on the shelf above your work bench!

Operator, You have a beautiful collection of Puget Sound double bits. I was happy to find one Kelly for my modest collection. They, the nice ones, always seem to go for a premium on ebay. Being in the Central Northwoods, one will not find one anywhere around here. I'm guessing that the Warren Chemicals are also known as Sager.

How long have you been collecting axes? I have a great appreciation of your knowledge of the history of them also.

I have been collecting axes for around 3-4 years hard core. I have had others here and there for some time, but as far as getting into numbers, probably last 3-4 years. The Chemical Axes are from Warren Axe and Tool Co. See my Warren thread for the informational breakdown on the names, it can be confusing no doubt.

Yeah I do have some NOS labels from various Maine manufacturers. Pretty neat. And yes those Pugets all came from one man. Most know of him.
