I have not seen the Stryker's designer name in available BM's consumer catalogs (since 2003).
But Y have a photo in a book with the Emerson knife/ The photo was made absolutely in BM's style. And there is a BM's butterfly on the blade.
This knife is very similar with Stryker, except the handle contour. The blade shape seems to be identical on both.

So, does anybody know about the Stryker source?

You are right. Elishewitz, plus also Terzuola had a falling out with BM a few years ago. BM had to take Elishewitz's name off his knives in subsequent production runs and they canceled the Terzuola.

Are you confusing the Emerson/BM CQC7 with the BM 910 Stryker? The CQC7 was made by BM before Emerson got into production knives. When he left, BM wanted a tanto and thus, the Stryker was born from Elishewitz. When Elishewitz left the design team, his name was taken off. (Stryker, 690, Nimvarus, Darkstar, Ares)

Ernest Emerson worked with Benchmade for a while before he stepped out on his own.

In 1994 the president of Benchmade Knives, Les DeAsis, approached Emerson to manufacture the CQC6 on a larger scale as a factory production model.[5] Preferring to keep the CQC6 as a custom only knife, Emerson instead licensed a similar design of his, the CQC7.[36][37]

The Benchmade factory version was sold under the model name BM970 or BM975 depending on blade length. Other designations followed which denoted blade finish,[38] whether the knife was a manual or automatic opener or if it was offered with a partially serrated blade.[5] The knife retained the profile of Emerson's custom piece in addition to the ATS-34 steel and the titanium liners.[39] However on Benchmade's offering the bolsters and micarta scales were replaced with G10 fiberglass scales; the slotted screws were replaced by Torx head screws, and the pocket clip was repositioned so that the knife could be carried in the pocket in a tip down position.[8][39]

Well, back then Emerson the man, was all the rage.
So when Benchmade came into agreement to produce the CQC-7; the marketing of an Emerson designed regular production made tactical knife (notably to mean all blacken folding American Tanto point knives) took off at a phenomenal rate.
The fall out between manufacturer and custom knife designer meant the end to this product.
Sales were still hot for Benchmade and so was the name of new rising star - Elishewitz. A new pact was formed. And while the old crowd was still going wild with the Benchmade CQC7s, the Stryker was born. So that it came to be, the new Benchmade Stryker had to mirror the public's undying love for that earlier highly successful Emerson black tanto folder with some cosmetic design changes to add. But personally, it wasn't quite as spectacular a product than the Emerson in stature.

Ok, thanks a lot for the info.

My Stryker fits me very well as EDC. Now I will know, that was designed by Elishewitz.

Yea, I've never seen a custom Stryker though and I LOVE the design, before BM re did it for 07.

Mine is old-styled. With M2HS blade.

By the way, i have disassembled it few days ago. And was surprized with the material of washers. They seems to be from some sort of brown plastic, but not a brass.

Must be Nylatron. (Nylon mixed with Moly Disulfide.)

Kapton has terrible lubricity properties.
