Thumb HOLE I think Spyderco
Zytel I think Cold Steel, Maybe Spyderco.

...use a pocket clip on a knife?
Spyderco is given credit for this. SEARS had it first on many tools.
...use serrations?
Not Spyderco. Serrations can be traced back many years before Spyderco. I don't think anyone can actually claim credit for this.
...use thumbstuds?
The use of thumbstuds or similar device can not be cleary credited to anyone. Several custom makers had similar types of opening devices for many years.
...use zytel handles?
In 1980, Pete Gerber introduced the L.S.T.®, the first knife to use an all synthetic handle, revolutionizing the way the world thought about knives.

Serrations have been around since the Bronze Age, tried and rejected for weapons over and over in different times and places, but used since the Bronze Age for specialized purposes such as scraping hides.

Bob Terzuola was the first to use the round disc on top of blade for opening. Talked to him about it at the NY Show last November.
