Who Will Make the ESEE Folder?

You really have to pay attention around here. Maybe this has already been stated and I missed it. But I visit a lot of knife forums. Now that DPX and ESEE have gone their separate ways, I was wondering about the Izula folder project. I know Jeff and Mike were looking for an American manufacturer for the new folder, even back to Ontario days. They wanted it American made. I suppose Rowen could make it, but when we have such fine American companies as Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, and several others who specialize in folders, it seems that one of them could do it.
 
Hey Horn Dog! I am 99% sure that LionSteel will be making the ESEE folder. LionSteel is a well known Italian knife manufacturer. I am sure the more knowledgeable ESEE fans will be along shortly to elaborate.
 
I thought maybe Rowen was working on it. I know Jeff has stated more than once that he wants it made in USA.
 
Rowen will eventually do a folder for ESEE. That is already in the works. We also have ARS Knives (Birmingham AL) looking at doing a folder for us.

Awesome! Right in my backyard. Is this ARS company by any chance affiliated with your distributor in B-Ham; Trading Post knife and pawn?

I remember a guy from trading post telling me that they made their own stuff.
 
Oh! We are talking about two different folders? There will be a DPX and an ESEE?!

That's great. It's time to buy American whenever we can. This country can still make stuff!
 
Very excited... ZT551, HEST/F, Izula Folder - Could literally sell every other one I own and be perfectly happy with just those 3.

so this means there's possibly 2 ESEE folders in the works? can't wait!

Yep, this country can still make stuff very well! Problem is we have become lazy in many ways. USA made is coming back though, slowly but surely.
 
Esee and DPX have gone their seperate ways? When did that happen? Do I have my head in the sand? Didn't they just do the Hest folder that's not even out yet? edit (WOW! Hest isn't on esee sight anymore!?) some one please fill me in. Nasty break up?
 
Same here I've been looking forward to getting in on the second batch of h.e.s.t. Folders considering I love my fixed blade hest(haven't take it to dangerous places yet, though).

This is disappointing but I loved esee products before the hest and am sure they will innovate and continue to develop exciting new products!
