Custom knife buffs, I want to get some opinions as to who you think would be able to do the BEST job with my design. I know people have asked this before and I have seen plenty of lists, and I know makers XYZ all do good work.. but each maker has their own style and some designs just fit certain makers better... I want some suggestions for THIS specific blade.

If you would be so kind :) any and all input is appreciated.

Way to many to list all of them. Mike Turner would do a great job.:D Bruce Bump makes a design very much like that one so he would be an obvious choice, if he has time that is. Another would be Ed Caffrey, his EBK,s are very similar also. How many are you looking to have made? If you have enough done get them water jet cut and then just have them ground and finished. Good luck.

Well I'm really just looking for one for myself :)

I will look up the designers you mentioned and shoot Mike T a PM as well.

Appreciate the input guys!

Couple of things you might want to mention, like a materials desired and size. We can guess pretty close to size but do you want stainless or carbon steel and what is the handle material. All these things might give us a better guess as to who will be willing and able to do this project. A one off might not appeal to some as well. I think Ed has his EBK's cut out for him to keep the prices down, not viable for a single unit. Also what would be your price range this too might sway some either way.

I am feeling that design man...

I would suggest contacting one of the following makers for that pattern..

Tom Krein
Fiddleback Forge
Fletcher Knives
Have a good 1..

Tom Krein immediately came to mind at my first glance at the photo.

As has been stated, there's many fine makers who would do an excellent job implementing that design. It's more an exercise of finding one who will do it within your price range and in a suitable time frame.

Was this knife deliberately designed without a plunge cut..? Without one,
the tang would taper top to bottom..the guard would be as thin as
the edge.

I immediately saw Tom Krein and Mike Snody.

Just a suggestion, the knife needs a ricasso, possibly starting right in the middle of the finger groove in the blade.

Thanks for all the replies. I am currently working with Mike Turner to clean up the design and make the knife. I appreciate the input.

Well after a few design tweaks we have finished this for myowngod, hope you all like it and this is my second solo sheath.

Thanks guys :D.

I had a lot of fun playing with this little knife, was something a little different from what I have been doing lately.

Mike, you were a pleasure to work with for this little project and the knife looks fantastic! I can't wait to try it out. A big thumbs up for Mr. Turner and BF.
