who would be interested to make a set of hardness testing files for me?

Hi you proud knifemakers,

Anyone is interested to make a set of hardness testing files for me? The commercial ones have too big range gaps, you know, one is RC55, the next is RC60. I would like to have them at 2 degrees in between, like RC55, then RC57. There will be five pieces in the set, respectively RC55, RC57, RC59, RC61, RC63. It doesn't have to be exactly like that, it can be 0.5 degree more or less.
The material doesn't have to be funcy high carbon stainless steels, simple steel like 1095 would be fine. Each piece would be 2" in length, 0.5" in width and no more then 1/8 in thickness. One end has a blunt edge that can be used to scribe, the other end has a small hole that can be used to chain them together. Hardness number should be scribed on each piece.

I guess you need to have your own heat treatment equipment and a good rockwell hardness tester to do this.

Any taker? price?

If you use the available commercial files, you can learn to make a pretty close guess by the degree that they cut. I don't believe that a point or two either way is going to make any measureable difference in performance. If you can get the blade within a couple of points of your goal, that should be enough to expect, but that's just my opinion.
