Who would buy a 3 3/4" Native?

The PERFECT blade profile. Just the right amount of top grind. Pretty. Strong. Makes the Strider look like a primitive stone knife.
But limited to 3" and part of that is that choil. Not bad. In fact, good....BUT.. a longer blade.......... WOW!

Sal, if you have an ounce of pity in your heart, you MUST consider this.

I would, saw it once as prototype scan (try to use "searching") maybe it was even 4"... Native is a great knive but the blade is too short, IMO.
 
I think the Native is close to damn perfect...and said as much in print, recently. :rolleyes: :D I believe the fairly wide, very capable blade is a very nice length; much longer, and it's rapidly going to move toward the "scarier" side for much of the populace (who probably just tolerate the shorter current version).

That said, if Sal & Co want to make a larger version, I'm certain many of us will buy one. I just don't know if the larger knife will have the same target audience or widespread appeal.

I certainly would. The prototype is called the Chief.

Me not want Glesseronimo to stop make-um short Native.

Me want longer Native to use WITH little brother.

HELL YEAH I WOULD BUY A BIGGER NATIVE!

the native is definitely my all time fave small EDC. my only beef is that it's not available in G10 -- and also, i wish it was bigger.

BUILD THE CHIEF IN S30V & G10 AND YOU WILL HAVE A HUGE HIT!!!!!!!!!

plans always begin when the demand is big enough.

like i said in another thread, the chief in s30v + g10 would sell like hotcakes in somalia.

dear spyderco - start planning.
 
Thats right, think positive, plans can always be made. g10 and s30v or vg10 would be awesome. I think this would be a super knife.

Thank you, yes it must be. The picture I had was just of the 2 knifes, not the whole group. WOW!
