And by broken, I mean folding ;-)

I often see a folding blade is a broken blade, so I carry a broken blade every day. (And a fixed blade also)

But I think a slightly scaled down bk15, 16, and 17 would be awesome!!!

Especially if it had a liner lock as thick as my zt0350 ;-)

I have a lot of faith in my particular "broken" blade, but i think a broken Becker in 1095 crovan would find its way into my pocket every day lol

Especially with tan grivory, or better yet, micarta:-D

Replicable scales of course!

A folding 15 would also be pretty amazing.

The only problem with the folders is the added production costs. It brings the price point up to where its hard for the 'average' guy to justify those kinda funds on a folder. I personally have no problem spending money for a quality folder, many others do not share this opinion (outside this forum).

Yeah I can see that...

But people who appreciate American knives and American manufacturing would pay I am sure.

Maybe not enough people for them to sell big, but they would sell.

(If kabar could make big $ of this idea they would already be doing it)

A 15/16/17 slip joint? I would love a scaled down Becker traditional!

It's been discussed, bandied about, couched, revisited, and even prototypes made... To make an American made, built Becker tough, it's too expensive. Sometime if you make it to the Becker Mountain, ask E to see the prototype. I THINK if I remember correctly it was made by Hogue, but I won't swear to that. It's a DAMN nice knife just missed on the price point that Ethan was going for.

So, I was just thinking about this. What do you guys think of this idea?

A Becker Friction folder of some sort, potentially with the ability to lock the extended tang using something substantial.

Hear me out though, I say a friction folder because they're essentially small fixed blade knives with folding handle extensions. Whenever the question inevitably comes up about "what folder could I baton with", the Svord Peasant always comes up. As Beckers are known for being tough, and for battoning well ("Buy Beckers, they're the Battoniest" as moose once said), as well as being a good value I could see this working out in the mind of the consumer.

Also, they would be cheap and easy to manufacture for Kabar (again, because they're basically short tanged fixed blades, with some handle scales screwed on), and could be had with both Micarta, or Grivory scales (maybe with a liner of some sort?).

Anyway, so basically, I'm thinking Tweener bladeshapes with Svord Peasant style extended tang, in a Becker Ergo'd scales with the ability to have a clip on it?

Thoughts anyone?
