Who would you send a knife/knives to for sharpening? I have a couple that need the angle put back on them compliments of some amateur sharpener.
Thanks in advance.

i do my own sharpening and have had others give me their knives to sharpen. i use a simple tool that is a set of coarse stones set in a V then a ceramic set for honing. works good enough to shave hair on my arms. which is how i tell i have them sharp enough.

I have had a Lansky system for quite a while and it works well after you get used to it.

Hmmm. No offense, but the lansky sharpener is one of if not the worst out there.. You are better off using stones and your hand.. Lansky is flimsy and cheaply built. Trying to keep an angle is a joke..

Invest in something more substantial so you don't waste money on a cheapo shapener.. my 2 cents.

i had a system similar to a lansky and i had trouble getting the knife back in the clamp so the angles matched up the same as when i first sharpened it.

narrow blades are almost impossible if not impossible to sharpen on one.

Is yours a SharpMaker?

Thanks,
Hal

I would send them to Richard J. I've seen what he does and his edges are incredible. I would trust him with any blade.
