I like that!!! Very cool and clean design. I also like the high carbon steel with chrome. Great job :)

Very slick! Sometimes, simple is best!!!

Any more pics of handle, side shots etc Robert?

Reminds me of the good ole' designs...

Like I told the new owner this is a simple blade but one I personally would not hesitate for a second to use or bet my life on.
Thanks for all the kind words.
I will try to get some more pics before it is off to it's new home.
Plans are in the works to do a limited edition of numbered fighters, loosely based on this design. Handle will be less plain and probably made from G10. Blade style will be more like my "Black Velvet" fighter.

Andrew
It is a hidden tang on this one. Starts out 3/4" wide and tapers to 5/8" at the end which is about a 1/2" from the end of the handle.
Drilled a 5/16" hole in the tang toward the end to form an Integral Bonded Rivet along with Putting some notches for further grab. Using the bonding agent I used, you will have to destroy the handle to remove it.

Very nice Robert.., that thing looks like a tank :) If you drop by and catch my post, how much does this knife weight?? Thanks!

Sorry it took awhile to get back with you guys.
This blade weighs in at 13oz, which is about right considering the materials used and the grind. Heft and design is made for some heavy duty use.

I am currently working on a light weight version of the "Black Velvet" model that incorporates full strength to the tip and far less weight. By full strength to the tip I mean the grind is such that almost all the way to the tip has full spine width while still including a false edge. G10 guard and a Micarta handle with the tang that is actually very close (As close as I can get it) to a full tang but remain hidden under the handle material. This will give it a good combination of Balance and strength.

I'm holding this blade right now and I have to say that the picture above does not do it justice. It has a simple beauty of form following function. The handle is soothing to grasp and the balance is the best I have ever felt in a knife -- hard to believe that it weighs 13oz.

Robert does great kydex work too.
