About a week and a half ago I was looking at getting a Wetterlings 13" axe, and they were going for like $26 on bensbackwoods. Now if you can find them(Ragnar took them off his site because he can't get his hands on them) they cost around 45 dollars! Looks like I waited to long:grumpy:

I just noticed that myself. Seems like bensbackwoods is the only show in town. Everyone else is still listing them at the former $25 price range but that they are "Temporarily out of Stock". For that price it makes sense to just go for the GB.

I saw that too. Popped on to I think 888knivesrus and saw them for 25 bucks and wiped my brow, then saw backordered.

Thats what I get for shuffling my feet.

I posted here somewhere a few weeks ago the Gransfor Bruk bought out Wetterlings, there went the neighborhood. so much for affordable axe ofcourse the value of dollar is so far down that all imported items are higher than normal right now. Pat

bladematrix.com is an internet vendor where I've had very good service. Their prices, including shipping, have been very competitive. But all prices have risen by 30-50%. I'm glad I bought my collection a couple weeks ago.

The 13H is backordered too, but I placed an order in anyway, hopefully they'll get new ones shortly and hopefully I'll be locked in at the lower price.

Just spoke with someone at knifecenter - they spoke w/ Wetterlings, who informed them that the axes are at sea and heading to the shores of the U.S. of A.

A friend is still trying to find a SAW13, with no luck. I saw a couple on eBay and the final price on one was ~$89.

REALLY glad I got mine earlier this spring.

Smoky Mountain Knifeworks had the 15" & 20" axes the last time I looked - less than $35 for either. They don't carry the 13" version, however. figure about $8-10 for shipping, unless you buy enough stuff to go over $100 (then shipping is free).
