Apparently I've been slowly accumulatin' different patterns with Wharncliff blades..

There's the 2012 GEC Trappermade for the traditional forums, a Case SBJ and the 2009 Barlow.

These are great utility blades.

I don't own a traditional with a wharnclif blade.

That will change. I have a custom on order with a warncliff secondary. Spear main. So excited! I was going to order a grandad barlow with a spear and warncliff secondary, but changed my mind at the last minute to a new pattern I have never owned.

Thats a very cool line of knives there Ted, I like that Forums Barlow, was it 2009?
Duh Me...I just read your post again Ted, yes it is a 2009, my apologies :o

Nice knives, Ted :)

I own several whanies; but somehow, I don´t really warm up with that blade shape. Maybe I need to carry them more often ;)

My love of Wharncliffs started with a Sheepsfoot I had as a kid, bein' a person of the Trades, (mechanic, electrician, construction worker...) the flat straight bladewas great for work, then I discovered my first Wharncliff I was ecstatic, a straight blade with a needle like point, it was a win, win situation for me.

Knives with a belly, like a Clip or a Drop Point are great for skinnin' so when I get a knife with a Wharcliff and a Clip, (like the GEC Forum knife) it warrants a lot of pocket time.

Nice group Ted. Like you I have accumulated a small collection of wharncliffe bladed knives. The shape isn't the most versatile, but for my normal EDC tasks like opening letters it is perfectly suitable. And the wharncliffe is my favorite blade for whittling.

There seems to be quite a bit of love for wharncliffe blades on BFC. I am no exception having several knives with wharncliffe blades. I have 4 wharncliffe trappers, the 2009 and 2012 BF knives, three mini copperheads, one large copperhead, 2 SWJs and one SBG. So, yep, I'm a fan of the blade shape.

Nice collection, Ted!
A Wharcliffe is indeed a useful blade, and they have traveled many miles in my pocket, usually in the form of a wharncliffe trapper. A super nice combo, like our Forum knife of course!

I'm still in awe of the AGR wharnecliffe sowbelly I bought a while back. It's almost always in my back pocket! It's starting to get its bolsters "pocket polished/worn" I love that big blade too! An SBJ is in my future, if I can find one when the funds are available. That's a great collection of wharnies there, enjoy them, Ted!
