So i made a nice little IWB sheath for my leatherman wave from leather, and its all riveted and sewn up. but its so tight i can barely even get the knife into it. anyone know any good ways to loosen this leather up a little?

Sorry to be stupid but what's IWB?

What's the process you used to make it? (it will help to know what to do) Did you wet form the leather around the leatherman and then have it shrink and tighten?

You could wet the leather and try to stretch it and dry around the leatherman. Then, if you don't mind the colour shift, use neatsfoot oil generously to keep the leather supple. That should keep it from grabbing too much.

Pics??? :)

Wrap a couple of layers of duct tape around the tool then wet the sheath with warm water till its pliable. You can work the tool into the sheath carefully, take it out after the leather takes a set, usually a couple of hours. It may be a bit tricky to get the tool out, just use patience wiggling it out and you'll get it done. Let it dry slowly at room temperature.

You should have a nice firm holding sheath without being too tight.

Duct tape... well isn't that a clever idea. Nice one. That should do the trick for sure. :D

i can't help ya, i don't do anything with leather, sorry. i just have to ask - why an IWB for a multi tool? i mean IWB is generally for concealment (at a sacrifice to comfort), are you trying to conceal a leatherman?

Its more to protect the tool, and if no one knows i have it they wont ask for it to retrieve stiff from there toilet...:barf:
