Who's going to Solvang this weekend?

I plan to be there all of Friday and part of Saturday (going to the evening shindig).

Anyone else going from this here community?
 
This baby here is going. Is it beautiful or what?
That's one of the shows I haved missed, but will definitly hit one of these days. Solvang is a beautiful part of the country.

This should be quite a show being that it's only going to be held every other year from now on. And in 2010 it will be draw only, like AKI and Plaza's evening show.

I know I'm not coming home empty handed, which is a good feeling.:)

Being only an hour away, up the coast, it would be a mortal sin for me not to attend. But I plan on arriving midday Thursday. The early bird, the worm, that kinda thing. Then on Friday, I'll wait for my body to be slammed a few times trying to get through the door when it opens. After Friday, it's all downhill.
 
Not going this year, unfortunately. I've got stuff to do to prepare our move to Europe - and also I have no money left. :D
 
Beautiful piece Kevin!!I was about to embarass myself by asking who made it until figured out the mark.
 
I may be going as well so I can introduce my 8 y/o to some great knifemakers. I'll have to wait and see how my wife is handling our daughter's bday party this weekend before I commit.
 
I'll be going too. I'm taking my wife, daughter and mom on a weekend getaway. We're going to Solvang on Saturday morning then driving to Monterey in the afternoon and spend the night there. I'm hoping to buy a new knife from Nordic and seeing the customs at the show while my family hangs around Solvang for a while. They don't like knives.

Since I have no idea what you guys who are going look like (except for Win), I'll wear something distinctive.

On Friday, I'll wear a red T-shirt with "Aprilia" on front and a large stylized white Lion head on the back (it covers the entire back).
Please introduce yourself when you see me. I'd really like to meet more forumites in person.

Solvang's already started for me, though the doors don't open for another two hours. Last night two friends and I got together with D' and Pat Holder, along with Curt and Julie (Warenski) Erickson. No knives, no knife talk, just good food and good fun. Now that's the best way to start a knife show!
 
I'm leaving in a few hours
It takes me 35 minutes to get to Solvang

Not sure if I'll buy anything because I am pretty much the "uninformed consumer" that I like making fun off!!! :eek:
And I don't know Jack Smith from Jack Jones from Jack Williams
I think this will be a good way to find out what makers I like
Then I can do my own shopping/research online if need be
For 8 bucks (I got my 2 dolla off coupon) I figure it will be worth it even if I don't buy anything
The drive up the 154 is scenic also :thumbup:

I'll be wearing my patented digital urban camo pants
(they got lots of pockets to keep knives in!!!)

If they allow me to take pics on the inside I'll post a few..........

just back from solvang. i was lucky enough to handle the aforementioned baby and it was beautiful.
