So far I've Fisked my BK-2 and my BK-14, and I absolutely love the results. The convex edge is awesome on both knives. I'll be Fisking my BK-9 soon as well.

Of course, I'm in love with the Machax -- and I haven't even held one yet. I plan on ordering one very soon.... are people gonna Fisk theirs? I wonder how the convex edge would do with the Machax? Anyone have an opinion?

Oh my, those vids are sweet!

I've just had to subscribe...and shall watch them all this evening with a big dum grin and then remember how much I want me both a Machax and Short....so have a short of Diplomatico to make me feel better.

Thanks.

I watched a couple of the Fisk vids. All I can say is he REALLY knows his $hit, and what a nice guy!:thumbup:

I REALLY enjoyed those vids. Clearly I have so much to learn about Mr B, but I already have a great admiration for him....and both his cutler and culinary prowess!
Together with Mr F they seem such incredible gents and so generous.

Now owning a Shorty and Machaxe has just become more than my intrigue and innovation of their design, more than their history and meaning to their creator but some kind of 'pilgrimage purchase'.

Another "fan boy"....lol! ;)

you can only Fisk a BK5 :D

the others you can convex though :>

the original Machax in hard-chrome is somewhat to mostly convexed. is nice.

they stopped doing that shortly after, and the last gen (rare) epoxy coats? ugh. don't bother unless you want to cry :> Camillus edge got rather short and blunt.

my current user Cincinnati phosphated Machax is "worksharped" with a SMOOOOOOOOTH beautiful freehand convex and polished to 6000 grit. is niiiiiice.

the new one? well, duh. chopping tools must have a convex edge ;)

Dunno about fisking but convex on the Machax is def the way to go. Night and day difference in chopping
