Who's got a Jungle Defender?

Mine came today, along with the Desert Clip Point Badger.

My daughter and I opened the package in the car. She immediately asserted rights to the Clip Point, so I guess I get to keep the Jungle Defender.

Cool looking blade.... Now damn where's mine.Should be here tomorrow.I have been waiting for this to get here, well one more day. Thanks for the pics. Are you going to use or stash away?
Pete

I plan to use the JD but the rest stay in a dark safe for now. The CPJABA may be next to get a chance on the outside. I've got to hold off on aquiring any more knives for a while so I can get some sheaths. I have corresponded with several of the sheathmakers on this forum and a couple of them will soon get a chance to wow me with leather and kydex. I'm also trying to save up for Blade 2004 'cause every year I spend more than the year before. Maybe Jerry will have some treats for us in Atlanta.

Just saw one of those at Chuck's , pretty cool. As I was pulling out of his driveway I looked back and he was juggling 3 camo Satin Jack's:eek:

My (3) came in the mail today, I'll be keeping one and selling the other two.:D

Still waiting for my Jungle Defender and Jungle Skeleton Key. Hopefully I'll have a white box nearing me tomorrow!:D Them green Busse's are nifty!

No love here. If I have anything coming my way, I'd bet Shaggi left it sitting on her desk and she'll get around to shipping it when she sobers up. How good it must be to go to Vegas for a vacation. Woe is me. :D

One thing I didn't notice until after I had handled the JD a little was that it had a swedge grind even though Jerry had noted that they would not. The first pic he showed had the swedge grind but the pic on the night they sold didn't. My UD doesn't have the swedge. Maybe I got a JD variant!

My three all do have the swedge, how high the hollow grind goes does vary though.

Pete, put a light coat of oil on the slabs, it darkens them and makes the glisten like that. I prefer the fuzzy matt finish of oil free canvas micarta, especially for grip factors.

Hi Pro,
I don't think you understood my post. The knife isn't like in the pics. Not comlaining just thought that is how it would get here when I bought it.
I don't like the idea of oil on a handle. Thanks for the tip though.
I do like the JD should make a great all around knife.
Pete

Hey Pete,
No, he is serious, the mineral oil puts a shine on the scales. Its done rather commonly. The shine you see on those you spoke of is done with mineral oil! It really soaks in, as the micarta is porous. If you dont believe us try some water and see what happens, its a temporary effect similar to the oils permanent effect.
