who's got the Inova X5T?

Got one today from County Comm after DonL posted that they have them in stock. They have a special which includes an extra pair of CR123 batteries with the deal. Cool! I got the silver one with the white LEDs. A nylon belt pouch was packaged with the light. You all know what it's like when you get a new flashlight, you just gotta stare at the beam to see how bright it really is. :D OW! That hurt! I like the three-position switch: constant on, constant off, and momentary. I didn't like the fact that the body was completely round. The light rolls on flat surfaces. Quick solution: attached a 550 cord lanyard. Looks like this will be part of my EDC. Anyone else have one?

Yeah, I got one. I had one of the older models as well (gave it away to my brother in-law as a gift).

They say it's brighter but I can't tell. I'm still getting used to the thicker profile. The alodization is different as well. Much more gray then silver.I like the tail cap and all it's new features but I'm not sure if I like it that much better than the old one. Seems heavier as well, wish I still had both...

Seems like only the white ones are out...I was hoping to pick up a green one. Anyone got one of those? I'm really glad they put the switch on the opposite end. Seems to make much more sense.

I've seen one with green LED's It was a prototype though. That thing was bright! I'm not sure what I'd do with a green one.

I have an X5 and think it's really cool. It's five LED's are very bright. The X5 Tactical weighs 3.8 ounces with batteries and is 7/8" in diameter and 4 and 3/4" long. The tail cap twists on/off for constant light while the press button on the tail cap turns on the light when depressed. The grooves along the aluminum housing make the flashlight easy to grip.

Inova X5 Tactical LED Flashlights are available at PocketLights.com.

I got mine yesterday. Didn't own the original for comparison. From what I can tell, the ends of the light have been reversed. It seems odd putting the batteries in with the positive end facing away from the light end. I fear I may forget and reverse the baterries.
The light output is good, but less than an arc LS second I have that used one 123 battery instead of two. The light from the x5 is a little more to the blue end than the LS when viewed at the same time.
The package appears VERY rugged, but I would take issue with calling the switch positions "locked". When screwed all the way together the light is on. Unscrewed to about three quarters of a turn and the momentary switch will operate it. Unscrewed more than that and it won't activate by the momentary switch, but I don't think of that as "locked off".
Like grnamin, I couldn't resist the urge to look at the leds while turned on. Why do we do stupid stuff like that? Guess what, it was very bright.
I like this light. I plan to keep it in the car because of the reliability of the leds and the lithium batteries.
Hope this helps,
G.

This is actually the same as the original (I just checked mine). I remember thinking the same thing when I first put the batteries in. Looks like that part hasn't changed even with putting the switch on the opposite end.

I used to think only I did stupid things like that. I guess I'm not alone in my idiocy--good thing I've never owned a laser pointer...
