Who's Lost a Pocket Knife???

I never use the clip. Instead, I´ve sawn pouches to all my knives and carry them deep down my pocket. BTW the pouches are made out of soft leather with velcro closings and I´ve never lost a single knife

(yet...)

I regularily check to make sure the knife is still clipped securely and isn't starting to loosen. When running (across the street or something), I place my hand on my knife clip and make sure it stays down. Also, if I feel the pocket's fabric isn't thick enough to allow a good "bite" with the clip, I move it to my waistband where my lard will hold it down as it sags.

This is usually in the summer when I'm on vacation because that's when I have enough lard to roll over and keep the knife down in my waistband. During school, I'm usually more physically fit and don't have enough lard to do this.

U tell me...what's worse, losing the knife forever, or having it fall in the toilet/urinal at a PUBLIC restroom?

As far as lost knives, my girlfriend FORGOT our CS BUSHMASTER in the woods of upstate NY after a hiking weekend.

I have lost three folders; Police model, Delica, and Native. They were all spydercos, so I feel that the old plastic clip design was subject to criticism. However, I have since located EVERY one of these lost knives! A few weeks away at Spyderco, and they were in tip top shape.

I lost my Police Model in a move from my mother's house; turned up under a frige TWO YEARS later. I lost the Delica in a car wreck; turned up in the torn/ripped clothing I had on that day, which was put away for "posterity." I lost the Native at school; thought I would never find the damn thing, but to my astonishment, one of my peers, who knew I was into knives, found it, and brought it to me thinking it may have been mine! Cool guy! I bought him a few beers...good old college days!

My rek'mndation...Use Epoxy to secure the lock screws, and keep tabs on the clip's tension.

Sheesh! Who hasn't lost one? There's the nice little SAK from my Aunt Phoebe which I lost the next day (about age 10), then numerous Scout knives, a few Case two and three blade folders, the trappers, the nice Solingen hunting knife I got one year for Christmas... a few that were stolen... Maybe we should start a new forum here, Lost Knives and Memories...

Endura 98 half serrated, like new.

What I was going to do before I lost it was super glue a piece of ping pong paddle rubber under the clip.

Probably my own echo, but I bought an ATCF from Terzuola in the mid-80's. I wasted no time misplacing it. Didn't see it for about 10 years. After finally finding it, I promptly lost it again after about a week. Haven't seen it since. That folder just did not like me.

While assigned to Marine Safety- watercraft patrol, I let a boater use my Spyderco Police, which had been an academy graduation gift from my father, along with the passing of the badge (2nd generation leo). The boater was stranded with a ski line wrapped in his prop. Needless to say he dropped it in the water, lost forever. I was not happy, replaced it with an Endura, lost it the same way less than a month later. After that I learned to put a wrist lanyard on knives near watercraft and not to let other people use my knives.

I rotate my carry knives from my collection. So, it's like russian roulette for me. I never know which one I'm going to lose. I've tried to forget about the knives I've lost so I can sleep at night. Sometimes, when I have a memory accident, I cry myself to sleep just wishing I could hold my lost kinfe one more time.

The last knife I lost was the SAK that I carried for three years. It slid out of my pocket while I was turkey hunting this spring (the pockets on fatigues aren't very deep). I know where it is and will probably retrieve it during deer season, but it wasn't worth the 1.5hour round trip to pick it up. Luckily, it's not a high traffic area.

I was goimg to reply to this yesterday and tell how I lost my first Syderco while hunting a few years ago, but time did not allow me, we were running late for a wedding. Well guess what ? I lost a knife at the wedding! I had a small all stainless Kershaw that was a gift I received when I was in a wedding anumber of years ago. Those damn baggie dresspants, must have slid right out the pocket. Oh well I did'nt lose my G10 Rookie that I had in my other pocket plus my LCC is due to come sometime next week

As a grade-schooler, I lost quite a few cheap knives. In junior high, I got a 4 bladed Case knife for my birthday. I lost it out of my dress pants at a church thing, and was VERY upset. I've lost a few other folders, but none made me as mad as that Case. I was almost ready to have my parents drive me the 2hours back to where we were. Luckily, I haven't lost another knife since '92. (Knock on wood), and with the price of my toys going up all the time, it's a good thing.
