I need a leather sheath! Got an email in to Armorall, but anyone know of a mid/low ride sheath in the works yet?

Rainwalker post one he had from another blade that fit perfect over on the scrap yard forum and it looked real nice, of course he said it was shipping west on monday.

I just bought a cheap $8 leather sheath for a 5" knife off ebay. I would have liked to have a nice custom job that held a firesteel but I just couldn't spend the money for one right now. I did see some $30 ones made for Bark River knives on knivesshipfree that I considered though.

He sure did. I got it just a couple days later. It was originally for a Dumpster Mutt or some such, so it's a little oversized for my Dog - but I knew that going in, and it's not as big as expected.
I asked for, and received, Natural Leather - as shown here with Rainwalker's black-handled War Dog:

Once received, I thought it a little light for my tan handle. A drop of dye, bit of neatsfoot oil, touch of beeswax, and a bunch of elbow grease later - this is what I have now:

It isn't quite as dark as it appears in my clearly amateur photos, but it's much darker than when I received it. I couldn't be happier and am very impressed with the quality of Rainwalker's materials and workmanship, and the ease of working with him.

I'd check with Amoralleather and Chuddy Bear to see if either has a War Dog so you don't have to send in your knife. In my experience neither one usually have scrapyard blades, but it can't hurt to ask. If you do have to send it in, they'll both give you a heads up when they are ready for your knife so you don't have to go without it for 2+ months. They're both great to work with and their sheaths are top notch.

Yup! Got a loaner in a few days ago, getting some good patterns together now and should be ready to make a run of sheaths very soon, most will be mid ride standard with an around the handle strap, but I could run a few lower ride if needed. :)

The Busse Muck is coming together as well, the loaning Hogs have been very generous!
