Now that there is a Cold Steel forum, I wonder who the "Three Hundred Dollar Knife Crowd" is goung to bash next? Oh sure "It's only the tactics they disapprove of".

Huh? Jedi, you sure seem to read the forums very differently than me. Many of those who belong to what you call the 'three hundred dollar knife crowd' are nice people, don't bash, and often give really sound advice to folks looking for $40 knives. Why have you decided to Troll here? I for one sure haven't missed you much during your relative absence the last few months. Sorry to see you return with your sarcastic, baiting, and strangely angry posts. Most of us hang out here to learn stuff, and to have fun, NOT to fight.

Yeah, that was kinda rude. While there are some who bash knives without cause, the vast majority of us do not. For the record, I currently own knives ranging from $4 to $450 in price (okay, forget that $4 knife, since it barely qualifies as a knife; I guess that would make my least expensive knife a SAK). And my brother's only 'real' knife (other than a SAK) is a Spyderco Rescue Jr., at my recommendation. I think you may owe most of us "Three Hundred Dollar Knife Crowd" an apology.

I have read the open derision aimed at Cold Steel many times over. I am very, very glad to see a Cold Steel forum here, I am glad that they (now) have a collective voice here.

Personally I have not read that much "bashing" as you say. I would call it perhaps honest criticism and that is one of the reasons I frequent this forum.
Some are a bit more open than others but almost all speak from experience and that is what counts most for me.
 
Eutopia, thank-you. But, I am certain that our friend Jedi already knew that when he wrote his post just to annoy me. That's what he likes to do: misquote, distort, and impune sinister motives by well meaning folks. He and I have sparred before because he felt a post of mine threw 'his' thread into disarray.

And he is right, I have tried to avoid responding to his posts. What I can't understand is why he keeps coming back here, since he never seems to have a good time, has little to contribute, and likes to attack folks who like their Sebenza's. I suppose this is because he feels they are elitist.

He even went out of his way to get all emotionally disturbed a few months ago, demanding action from the forum administrators and owner, when a few folks started a thread calling themselves rednecks. Somehow, Jedi found this distasteful and insulting to Him. It really had no racial bias at all until Jedi decided to create one. I still can't figure out why, since nobody called him any racially biased sort of names, although I do think his intelligence may have been questioned. And it was Jedi that continually brought the dead thread BTT just to complain about it again. Strange.

Paracelsus, who no longer has any patience for Jedi's games. May the Farce be with you Jedi.

Occupation: Alchemist: my namesake (Paracelsus) was an alchemist and physician. I am a drug discovery scientist at a pharmaceutical company. We attempt to recombine molecules into effective drugs, and turn them into gold (dollars). I also have a serious interest in the philosophy and history of science (including alchemy), among other arcane intellectual interests

Location: SLO town: San Luis Obispo California. My home town, although Not where I live now (I'm in Maryland for the time being). You could read this as Slow Down, always good advice. A few California residents have figured this one out (e.g. Walt Welch). Locals used to call it SLO town, because it was.

Interests: Autopoietic technology: Autopoeisis translates literally from Latin as Self Organizing or Self Creating, and I am. It is also an interesting concept guiding theoretical biology and is a major influence in artificial intelligence and cybernetics. Life itself is a Autopoietic System. So am I, and you as well.

Thanks for asking. Surprisingly, you are only the second person to ask about it. Maybe I should change my profile, as it now strikes me as Very nerdy. But then, I can be that when necessary. And I still think these three words go a long way towards describing who I am, without really telling folks who I am (was that a circular reference?)

Paracelsus, you rock! Jedi Knife, you suck! I'm no pro, but that's my opinion. Now, shake hands and come out fighting. No sucker punches, no hitting below the belt, no rabbit punches, no noogies, no scratching or biting. Just stab each other in a non-lethal abdominal area and compare scars because 'Chicks like scars'.

Get real Jedi. If you want a scuffle, go to a skating rink. This is a knife forum for serious minded individuals. Be nice or STFU.

I have said some words in regards to Cold Steel marketing myself. But I have always qualified my statements. Lynn is one incredible marketer. His knives are KICK ASS and hard to beat for the money.

No other person in history has had the balls to walk up to Lynn and say to his face that they WILL test his knife against another and post the REAL results on the interent. I did just this and in fact I did it while Sal Glesser was standing at the Cold Steel booth and Jerry Busse was waiting 5 feet behind me. The test was on. Here is the cool thing. Neither Jerry nor Lynn ever questioned my results. Both companies make awesome knives and both companies use a lot of HYPE to market them. Hype is not bad when based in fact and both companies can back up there claims.

If you don't like Cold Steel because of the marketing tactics then you are cutting yourself short of an incredible line up of products.

I, and almost everyone posting in that thread Also dislikes racism, Jedi. That was a point you failed to understand about that thread. I really felt your continual insistance that the word 'redneck' was an insult to YOUR race was itself a Racist comment. Particularly in a thread where folks all many races (asian, black, white, and who knows what)where having fun calling themselves names, and glorifying knives, trucks, guns, and having a good time.

There is a big difference between calling Yourself a name, and calling someone else a name. This is a point that you do not seem to be able to understand. I'm sorry you think I'm twisted. Most of my friends think that, but I don't think you would consider yourself to be my friend. Alas.......
