Who's ready for CoD: Modern Warfare 2?

im really excited for it! im getting it for PC since i dont have a 360. but im still hoping to get the collectors edition :)

i'm getting it too. out of the over 300 reserves at my local gamestop only 19 of them were for pc, including me. should be good.

Oh I'm ready.....have 4 copies reserved. 1 for me and 1 for each of my sons. Yes we all have our own Xbox 360s. :)

For those getting on PC, are you aware of the changes they have made to the game over COD4 regarding PC related features?

the only thing that i like about the changes is the saving of the profile online. i had to restart my profile a few times because of a faulty harddrive. do you know if there will maybe be an update for the dedicated servers so we will have them? or if that's even possible. it sucks, but i guess i'll live with it. i like the communities that they don't have on consoles. i was reading up on this and people were saying that a lot of people join servers based on map/player count. for me i do that for the first few weeks of playing the game then i find a server that i stick with from there on out. you get to know the people and it gives a better experience imo.

Apparently the developer really cheaped out on the online play. I've always found the COD series to have fun and intense single-player, if not particularly realistic.

One can always try a pirate copy as an extended demo...

There are some good, solid modern combat mods out...Insurgency for one (HL2) and Project Realism (BF2) for another. Free if you have copies of those games.

I got a copy of COD: Modern Warfare 2 on the release date and have gotten maybe 2/3 of the way through it. A couple of the episodes are really disturbing. The first episode that bothered me is about the Russian renegade and his squad shooting up a Russian airport and indiscriminately shooting civilians in an effort to blame the incident on America. With all the shooting problems lately this is not the type of fodder our young folks need.

The other disturbing episode is related to an American General officer turning traitor and enabling sensitive information to get into the wrong hands. It just bothers me that a 'game' would project this negative info to a large teenage audience. Somehow, this just didn't mesh with Veteran's Day.

But it's just a game . . . hope it is taken that way and not seen a something to emulate by young, impressionable folks.

There is a warning about the airport episode and it is possible to 'skip' this part of the game, but I imagine most will opt to continue right along . . . as I did.

There is a "Mature" rating for blood....drug references....intense violence and language right on the box. Parents be warned.

Been playing Campaign and Spec-Ops on PC. So far I'm liking it. Graphics are good and despite a few slow frame rates on certain maps it play well. Once I upgrade to the new PC it should be running a lot smoother. I also like that the minimum game requirements did not change since the last COD:MW.

Also, for anyone who may be disturbed by some of the game scenarios......when you first install the game you are asked if the subject matter and material with offend you. If the answer is yes then you can opt of of playing those mission.

Damn!! Thank goodness I've got daughters. That would get expensive, Jason:D (Not sayin' girls can't play COD, but mine don't;))

I've had all the COD games from the beginning for the PC, and lately I've been playin' some Modern Warfare multiplayer in anticipation of the latest version's release. It should be a good one!

The Single Player Mode - bleh
The Spec Ops Mode - OK
The Mulitplayer Mode - Heeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaa

I liked the original, but couldn't ever really get into the online play since I am not a big fan of having 14 year olds sling every bad word they can think of at me and everyone else during play. Has it gotten any better in the past couple of years?

I also hear that they still have not instituted cover or blind fire mechanisms. After playing a superbly executed game like Uncharted 2, not having those becomes annoying.
