This Saturday around 7:00pm I'm going to be having a Dutch Oven Roast Beef dinner and all of you are invited. The More the better. BTW Part of my Mountain Biking class is coming, including 3 great looking College girls.:D

There will be Roast Beast (Roast cooked for 4+ hours in the Dutch Oven with Onions, Potatoes and Carrots), Tossed Green Salad, Jello, roles and anything else that people want to bring.

So, if anyone will be in the Central Utah area and wants to go, just email me and I'll get you Directions and my Phone Number.

P.S.

I'll be doing more Dutch Oven Dinners threw out the summer for all those that are interested.:D

Heber,

It sounds fantastic. Is that cooked on a stove, or over a campfire?

I have a dutch oven in the cupboard that I haven't used yet for a roast. Heber, have you tried one inside a regular oven or just the authentic among the coals method?

thanks fer the invite, Heber. I'll hafta make a "virtual" apearance instead.

Besides--do you really want this unwashed heathen eatin off yer good china?

That sounds great. I've done that in the stove and can't wait to try on campfire. :D

Cooking potatoes, bacon, eggs, and onions like that on the fire is awesome.

Have a great day!

Can't make it either, too long a drive. I've used my dutch oven in the oven, on coals, and once during a hurricane, hanging by a chain over a Coleman stove. Always worked and always tasted just fine.

Wow, sure wish I was close enough. I would, however, worry about the type of "roles" we would have to play, especially with those college girls around. :p

The food will be cooked in my oven.:) Never done roast on a fire before, but I've done Stews and Honey Lemon Chicken on the fire.

3 college girls? Well, there's dessert.

Looks like there will be 5 to 8 girls coming.:D

Sure. And you can bring your Knives too.;) he he he

5 to 8? I'm going out and get the Taurus seviced and ready for the trip. Let's see if the truck will hold 5 cases of Heineken and 5 pounds of viagra and an artificial heart as backup system.

Uncle, Sounds like you have everything covered. I'll be waiting for you.;)

Wildmanh,

Actually one of my call signs, don’t ask.

Sounds like the kind of fun a broken down old pilot could get into. Unfortunately the timeline just doesn’t quite work out.

Try a little bread over the smokier parts of the fire. Basic dough kind of stiff, coated on the outside w/olive oil and a sprinkling of corn meal to keep from sticking. Let the smoke cook it. Serve w/ freshly roasted garlic. For dessert roast canned peach halves, sliced pineapple or bananas. All real good!

I got leave approved for the end of the month and will pick up my son and join the rest of them on Lake Powell for a week and a half. CONUS but not close enough.

S/F, Mike
