And yet another obvious question, as I try to sort out all the details most of you know for granted:

The Old Master, The Royal Kami, and Bura. Are these all names for Bura, or three different Kami's?

Thanks again for filling me in!

They are all names for Bura.

Bura means old man. Bura has a real name. It's on the website. I always forget. Maybe his wife calls him Bura.

Alot of them seem to have the same middle name too. Must give the Nepal Dept. of Motor Vehicles fits.

One of the books I read that discussed Ghurka troops recounted Rifelmen being known by their name PLUS serial number. Must have been as bad as in Welch units (Jones, Jones, Jones).

Thomas, dumb question; you mean Welch names are similar and many are the same, but is "Jones" Welch too?

Jones was and is a very common Welch last name. In largely Welch units of the Imperial Army, custom of calling the role by use of the last name had to be modified by calling the name "Jones" plus the muster number: "Jones 746917" Two privates named Jones whon the VC at the Battle of Rorke's Drift in 1879, and the custom of using "Jones" plus the muster number is reflected in the movie "Zulu."

That's funny because I've always thought of Jones as an American name. As it has become.

Thanks,

"Jones" is, far and away, the most common surname in Wales. The English form is "Johnson." Both come from a Latin root.
