who's youtube reviews do you watch...

I don't watch any youtube reviews at all.

I like his emphasis on functionality, and on knives as tools rather than as weapons. I also like his willingness to modify his tools to meet his own needs; I do the same thing with mine. People who make a living with hand tools have a different slant than office workers do. It is good to get both perspectives.

I watch Dave Canteberry's you tube reviews. He reviews knives and wilderness gear and does videos on bushcrafting. His site is on youtube under the name wildernessoutfittersarchery.

I watch knife reviews on YouTube quite regularly. Of course those of cutlerylover and nutnfancy, but also reviewers like mrdagon and raptor660kid do a good job and there are a few others whose internet names I can not recall. Actually, I just watch any review that I find about a knife that I want to see reviewed, but since there are also a lot of reviews that don't provide information that I don't know, especially those made by small kids, I don't watch most of them completely.

I've seen a number of videos from that guy too. A few days ago I watched a number of videos from him on land navigation. Nice made videos.

I can't remember the names, but there are so many great reviews on youtube. I often get on there for a review before I buy a knife.

Severator, coletrane811, cutlerylover, nutnfancy, edgedweapon88, JspyEDC, iAMboognish

They all do a pretty good job

None. I prefer to test my knives myself.

It is nice to know that my knife will do what I expect a knife to do, in my hands.

These are the ones i keep an eye on(aside from the two biggies). If they put up something that looks interesting then i watch em. The big ones that i watch most, if not all, of their vids are underlined.

I'm kinda partial to iAMboognish (wink wink)...

Seriously though... Severator, BLUNTRUTH4U, customtacticals, macjmillsx, MrDagon007, nycdave212 & thecajunblaze are my favs... They always have good things to say, and I really appreciate their attitudes. I watch a LOT of YouTube vids... you'd think mine would be better!

I generally keep my eyes open for reviews of any kind on the knife I'm buying. Inexperienced review and the sight of the knife in hand is better than going on nothing at all. I'll take looks at nutnfancy and cutlerylover the most. I also keep tabs here and there on jspyEDC and CRNFAllyKat. (She's cute :p ) Former two are great, latter two are decent. All in all, decent group for reviews when necessary.

I always watch reviews by these guys.

coletrane811, cutlerylover, and nutnfancy

They always give great and impartial reviews.

Charlie Mike did you compare your current girlfriend to your ex-girlfriend on youtube??! Wow! I can't believe she didn't stab you with that Nemesis she was playing with. Even if you are saying she is better than your ex you never ever compare current and ex.

Sometimes I just want to look at the knife or see it flicked open if it's a folder. I think most of these guys are fine people and are giving good reviews, but they go on and on a little too long for me.

Well that's the thing about a reveiw. When I'm about to purchase a knife that costs a couple hundred dollars I'd like to know all I can about it. What good is a review that shows them opening a knife a few times and saying something generic like "It's good steel and comfortable in my hand."?

I want size comparisons, talk about blade play, what steel is used, what handle material is used, stock thickness, lock type, comfort with constant use, hard use, how comfortable it is in the pocket, does it carry low or high?, does it sharpen well?

There are alot of things that go into doing a good review. A 20 second video of someone opening and then closing the knife is not a review. The more details the better. If more reviews were done the way they were supposed to be done I doubt we'd have the same questions being asked over and over again on the forums. All you have to do is check out the review and all your questions should be answered.

Can one of the big two (nutnfancy and cutlerylover) please do a full, dedicated, in-depth review of the Kershaw 1630 full-sized Cyclone. I know it's heavy, I know it has a high AO failure rate, etc. but after several years of collecting now, despite it's short comings, It is my full time EDC and work/SD blade and many others trust their lives with it daily.

Let's hear more about it! Maybe even a full video capture of it's disessembly and cleaning...(a la cutlerylover) Many of us find this intensely educational and intriguing, not boring.

Hope to see good KERSHAW CYCLNE YouTube Clips soon!
Cheers!
