yes, this beauty has a fine, sharp edge... note the half-moon on the blade... that is where it was in his finger...

awesome knife though. :)

Owwww.....

Does the string come pretied in a slipknot - with a firesteel to use to tighten it with?

Believe it or not, we actually had to wrap the twine around the base of the finger to stop the bleeding long enough to put the steri-strips on. I say "had to" because after almost an hour it was still gushing blood. Just got the knife around 3:30 today and the rascal has already bit me good. I had just finished honing it on the butchers steel not a minute before. I think I am in love. :D

It's not unusual for me to get bit by a new knife. Foolin' around with a sharp new knife that my fingers haven't yet developed an understanding for seems to make me a bit more bite prone. And then I develop some respect for the knife and we are friends.

 Dude, YES. Now THAT's a cut to be proud of! I'm tired of seeing all the little "booboos" that people post on here, crying that they got "cut". Those little love bites are less than impressive... but this one? Yeah baby.:D

Guys, please keep in mind that the convex grind is VERY efficient at cutting flesh. Tempting as it is, even to me, don't play with your knives while sitting on the couch drinking beer while watching some horrible hospital sitcom your wife makes you watch. That convex grind will slice you up like a lazer, and you'll get yelled at. Or, at least, I did.

Lupawolf. I make ladies knives too!

LOL Fiddleback!
For the record, there was no couch, no beer and no sitcom... we were out in the office/workshop area and he was working with the knife... I dont remember what we were drinkin...;)
But as you say... those things WILL cut... and then smile at you

And thank you, but I dont do "ladies knives"... I do Knives.
And I use them too.
:)
Its about to be deer season after all...

I'm thinkin that beauty in the picture will be really nice on deer and hog... it cuts Wolf well enough. :D
we will take pictures and let you know.

Man I am hooked. I think I need one of your little kardas now.
Thanks for the comments guys. I have scars all over me from various life lessons and let me tell you something. Andy's knives cut flesh VERY well. This cut should have had stitches but it just wouldn't stop bleeding long enough for my wife to suture it closed(yes we keep sutures in our med kit and edc bags).

Every time I cut myself, my middle daughter goes to find the knife to check it for blood. She is always morbidly excited when she can see blood. :)

When I yelp and say, "get the superglue" she comes running.

LOL. See. This thread is awesome!

I am happy to report the knife was used this evening without incident... after which she was lovingly cleaned and resheathed.
She is content.
She likes bbq.
All is well
