Why all the interest in rucks all the sudden?

I had a ruck for sale on the exchange for the longest time with no interest at all, and then in the last couple weeks, I've had about a half a dozen inquiries and today two "I'll take it"s. Is it just a coincidence, ot have rucks been featured in Walking Dead or something?

You didn't hear?

Apparantly yesterday the value of Rucks skyrocketed up by as much as 7X. A picture of Brad Pitt holding one during the shooting of "World War Z" was posted.

Some have sold for as much as 8X the going price of two days ago.

Ok, not really. But it would be kind of cool.

Eb and flow my friend.

I have seen them sell for as much as 1100.00 for a regular combat grade one at the height of the desire for them.

I had heard there were only 50 or so made of the camo bladed ones ?

haven't ya'll seen The walking dead!

i just need to get one of those AKs before the walkers get to Sweden.

For me it was that I really like my Rucki and would just like to try one out in INFI.

I probably would have just went with the Ruck without trying the Rucki but I had looked into getting a Battle Mistress (I can't remember which one but it was for sale for like $1200 so I immediately got turned off of Busse thinking that something like the Ruck would be even more expensive.

Funny story.

I was fortunate enough to score two of the Rucks in the initial 'Ganza. Never heard anything regarding the numbers produced, as is typical. Six months or so later a Big Boar posted a pic of a Clip Point Desert Natural Outlaw E-handled variant, of which there were only 14 made. Being a sucker for a nice clip point blade, I managed to convince said Big Boar to trade his knife for my Ruck, straight across; the first Busse sale or trade he had ever made. IIRC, the Ruck had sold for $479. I was happy, he was happy; good trade.

Now, you might think that a knife of only 14 copies would be more valuable over time than a knife of more, but unknown, numbers. You would be wrong. The secondary market is a funny thing, subject to the whims and desires of all those players. We have all seen what happened to Rucks in the Busse Bubble, and even now they still command a stiff price. Whereas the CP NO, on the very rare occasion of being offered for sale, is not close on price. Even the 1 of 7 recurve variants do not command value like a Ruck.

So it goes. No regrets.

(no, you may not have my other Ruck, forget about it)

Just joking man.

:D

It is kind of strange. I think the Ruck is the only Busse I lost money on when I sold it. I bought mine for close to $900 if I remember correctly, with an Okuden sheath. When I sold it, no one wanted one. It got as low as $700 something. I'd love to find one now, that cheap. I actually just got an email asking if I still had the one I sold more than a year ago. Whats funny is, my interest has turned back to a Ruck as well...

And now someone wants to buy one of the AKs from a 2010 listing. Is this a sign that the Busse after-market has hit bottom and rebounded, or just another coincidence?

Or is because word's gotten out that December 21, 2012, is actually the date of the Mayan Zombie Apocalypse?

Adrock; If it helps, I still love that Ruck. Stands right next to my bed, my wife kept bugging me about finding my Kimber under the pillow. Ruck was the next best thing.

Nice. That's exactly where my next one will sit. I'm glad you hung onto it.
