Why all the ZT-300 and only one ZT-200?

I was wondering...

Why all the variations on the ZT-300? Coyote Brown, Black, Green, Digicamo, black blade, tiger blade, satin blade . . .
And the good old ZT-200 always with the tired black handle and black blade...

I'm always about to get a ZT-200, but before the jump, I wanted to know :)
I'll love a 200 with a different color handle and shiny blade, what do you think guys?

Some of the blade/handle configurations you mention were/are a special run for TADGEAR. To see Kershaw's factory offerings, visit here.

To add additional clarification, there are exactly two factory 0300 variations, the 0301 in green G10, and the 0302 in tan G10, both with striped plain-edged blades.

All the other 0300 handle and blade variations (that I'm aware of) are special runs for T.A.D.

The 0200 actually comes is 2 variiations if you count the plain and combo-edged blade variations...:D

Ray :)

I really think that the ZT 0200 is perfect just the way it is...Of course, I'd also LOVE to have a "Mini-ZT 0200" (2.75" blade), as well as a "Magnum ZT 0200" (5.4" blade)....But that's just me dreaming.

You can't improve on perfection. :D

Oh c'mon guys
Perfection?

We all will be drooling if tomorrow Kershaw bring a ZT-200 with Composite blade, or a new color G10, is just our nature :D

Any way, thanks for the info, I'll try the 200 as soon as I get the money :(

Maybe it's good that the 300 series have those stupid looking stripes. Otherwise I would be out some money. Sure there are the TAD variations, but I am not going to pay so much extra for a decent looking blade.

I would be willing to see some variations of it, although it is good the way it is. I almost can't imagine what it would look like with different colors. But as Glockman stated, the magnum WOULD be really nice:D

Speaking of the 0301 and 0302, can anyone tell me what its blade length actually is? The Kershaw site says 3-3/4" while most web sites say 4.25".:confused:

Ya know, them ore i think about it, the more I like the idea of some colored G-10 on a ZT0200! It would really look fantastic! I'm thinking OD green and Coyote Brown to match the 0300 series.

That would be cool....Maybe even a "safety orange" one.

I'll second that - the Stripes are a Strider thing, and I've been seriously shocked at how many Strider guys I hear complaining about the stripes and asking adviceon how to take them off.

No stripes and a satin finish blade would make a great option for ther ZT0300 series.

Riffraff, the blade length of the 300's is 3.75", I don't know why some sites list it at 4.25". I just measured again to be sure.

I think that was a pre-release spec along with the corresponding incorrect OAL. Most sites never corrected the specs after release, along with not replacing the pre-release mock-up pictures with pictures of the actual models.

Ray and muddog, thanks. A guy I work with wasn't going to buy one if it was over 4 inches (illegal to carry where he lives), so maybe he'll go for it now.
