Why am I a GOLD member?

When I changed my new email address, I suddenly found out that I became a Gold member. At least, that's when I first noticed this. I want to be honest, so please remove, or give me the go ahead to abuse the sale forums. (just kidding)
BTW, I know I am not the only guy to be given a free membership.
