Why am I such a sucker for things on sale? I've had a Cara Cara that I ended up giving away due to the fact that it was just too much blade for me, ended up giving it to a friend as she's always wanted a pocket knife and it was relatively inexpensive. Now tonight I was just browsing around to see what was about and what do I see? The G10 Endura 4 on sale for <$80 and I suddenly feel as if I am a FOOL if I do not get it... Even though it is pretty much the more refined version of the Cara Cara and as such would be too much blade for me. Even after I think it through, I still feel compelled to buy it - it's sitting in the cart right now and I am toying with the checkout button as we speak . Now if only the g10 Delica or Dragonfly would drop by the same amount I'd be doing back flips (and likely ordering all three knives :p).

You can get a Caly3 for only about $10 more! :D

We are not helping are we? ;)

If you buy something at a significant discount from the street price (Not MSRP, but the average price you can find it selling for at etailers) you feel like you have something that will hold its value, if you had to sell it again.

Spydercos have an active aftermarket as they have a huge following. Yes, collecting can get out of hand, and you have to keep it in check. But it is a cool feeling getting that new knife delivered and seeing your latest bargain find, isn't it!

Yeah. So maybe posting here in hopes that someone would talk me down wasn't the brightest idea :p Or then again, maybe subconsciously I didn't want to be talked out of it... :D

Basically my problem is I want to buy a knife which I am almost positive won't do it for me because it is on sale as opposed putting that money towards another knife which would suit my tastes better but isn't on sale.

I wanted a Sage 1 back when I found it for $98 bucks, but never got it because it was more than I had ever spent for knife.

That was a couple knives and a couple hundred bucks ago, and I STILL want want a Sage, but refuse to "pull the trigger" until next year. Probably.

You might be SAVING yourself some bucks by buying the one you really want.

no point in getting it if you know you arent going to use it, maybe it can grow on you if you play with it a bit, but spend your money on a knife you know you will be likely to keep and use

When you`re "possessed by the steel", nice knives are usually much more attractive than money. Be good to yourself....you only go around once....
