Why am I seeing my infractions being shown in my message header?

I've gotten over Ken C. giving me the infraction but I hope this isn't going to be a flag to wave everywhere I post.

I feel it is time to clarify the meaning of the comment which got me the infraction to the Lord High Moderator. The political forum is pretty tough territory to begin with and opinions and emotions sometimes run high. After what seemed like endless explanations of the point in question with another forum member I felt that he was not going to even attempt to see things in any light other than his own. His prerogative. Now, an old adage, at least to me, is that you shouldn't try to teach a pig to whistle because it just wastes your time and makes the pig mad. Hence the statement, 'I guess you're the pig that won't learn to whistle.' This was no 'lightly veiled' insult on my part. When I insult you you will know it. Again, a little slap on the wrist was surprising but I understood the attitude with which the moderator was judging his forum. I don't argue with the cop when he writes the ticket but I don't expect to see my offense scrolling across the TV screen while I'm watching the news either. If it's the 'new thing' then it is but I feel that is uncalled for and unnecessarily punitive. In the end it will be lost in Volume III of 'Black Marks on My Permanent Record' and please note that this post was meant to be light and somewhat humorous and no offense is intended toward and moderators.

Only scumbags have infractions. Oops.:)

How come I'm 1/0 (0) and you're 0/1 (5) ? I think you may have beat me.:(

I think that means you have one warning and no infractions [1,0], with no points incurred [0]...

But that can't be right either...because I have one warning and one infraction, with 10 points toward The Plank... :confused:

Maybe it means my warning expired but my infraction hasn't... :rolleyes:
 
I haven't decided yet if I like the infractions showing or not, but this is what the numbers mean. First number is the number of warnings that haven't expired, the second number is the number of infractions that haven't expired. The last number is the number of points you have accrued. From what I can gather expired warnings/infractions do not show and MHawg your infraction expires tonight at 10:37, so your's may possibly just disappear.

I got a lifetime warning and tagged a racist bigot by Mycrofft for being dumb enough to discuss race on the political forum.
I said nothing racist or Bigoted.
Whatever, I didn't complain.
Now this BS.
I'd rather have the points than a lifetime warning that makes me look like a racist.
As far as I'm concerned Mycrofft was very unfair.
 
I kind of like it......its a little like a tattoo, ALL the cool kids have em' :D
 
I never realized mods were dishing out so many infractions, so many in fact that they need a penal system to keep track of them all.

Lot of ways, just read the Rules at the top of each forum and do the opposite. Hope you get to stick around if you find out. Some walk the plank really QUICK for major trolling.

Hmmm...Infractions have disappeared... :confused:

I hadn't formed an opinion one way or another...Except that in the Buck Forum, I seemed to be the only one with them... :D
 
I was going to take a screenshot of the new thread format and label it with all the things I've learned from the Mods about the new stuff, and the old icons, and links, and "!" triangles...and post a link to it in the Buck Forum, so those of us sheltered children who rarely venture out into the Wild Wild BladeForums would know what it all meant...

Have to wait until the dust settles now, I guess... :)

There doesn't seem to be any real screaming & yelling about the infractions posting...Wonder why Spark disabled it???...

I'm just happy the "Edit" button still works... :D
 
OK, I'm clean! Eric must me right. I'm glad I asked though. Thank you for your mighty wisdom O' Lord High Moderator!!!
 
Clean in your User CP too or just the general visable stuff in each of your posts? The visable ones seemed to be removed for everyone but I'm thinking my heinous pre 3 day bump is still listed in my CP. Along with an expired one for something or other. :)

No problem, actually you would show no infractions/warnings now anyway since your's expired, but Spark also shut that feature off. I checked late last night and yours were gone, then this morning Spark turned that feature off so now none of them are showing on anyone's posts.

Good move Spark. Nothing constructive can be gained by posting infractions in the avatar bar. If the mods want to know how many an individual user has, they know where to look.:thumbup:
