Ok I have been sitting on the fence about the 6 for some time, but the exchange rate between the US and AUS is really good at the moment soooo.
The economy still sucks and the last thing I really need is another knife, now what I need from all of you is help in justifying this purchase!!!
Photos and you guys telling me how great this knife is (like I don't already know:D) would help a lot.
Anyway my 3&4 look lonely to me. So come on guys lay the b---s--- on me:thumbup::thumbup:

All the best,
Rich

Ok here it comes, now i have the Izula the 3 and 4 and6, "BUT" if i can get it done with the 3or4, then i can do it better with my 6... You gotta get the 6, besides your others need company, and think about it, if your other TWO knives get in a fight the 6 can break it up, after all he is BIGGER....... :D Hope this helps.

It's a practical blade at a reasonable price, I don't know what to say any more than that... comfortable micarta grips, good size for general survival tasks, quality heat treated 1095 steel precision flat ground and hand finished to a shaving edge. Impeccable fit and finish. I went with the 5, but the 6 is a great blade. I'm kinda holding out for a TAK-1 or RAT-5 sized 3/16ths instead of springing for the 6.

The 6 gives you alittle more chopping power than your 3 or 4 and the extra length in the blade is also helpful for many different task....
the 6 is one of my Favorite of all the ESEE line up !
Don't forget to add the Molle back & pouch for a great factory set up !

...because Mick Dundee would carry it?;)

+1 on you will get them all anyway! You might as well stop fighting it and buy it!!

Lol, if you aren't buying it cash don't buy it...but anyway. It is a nice blade, good steel, good "one knife" size. A 6 paired with a SAK and you'd be pretty well covered.

well the 6 was my first esee knife and is still my favorite, i like a 6 to 7 inch blade for camping hiking and hunting. its a do it all size. i've used it to chop sapplings baton bigger wood and skin game or prep food. when you combine it with the molle back and pouch its perfect.

i recently got the 6 clip point and traded for some canvas scales off of a esee5 and i think for me thats the best combo.

because of the handle! it actually fits your hand and allows several different grips - with leverage - that you can't do with a 3 or 4.
it's also enough bigger it makes a lot of tasks easier.
piggyback it with an izula (or 3 or 4) and you're set with a great combo that doesn't weigh a ton and won't send folks off screaming into the night in fear. (that's what the chete is for)

Thanks for all the replies, some very good points made.
I guess it is pointless trying to resist:D
And as mentioned if my 3 & 4 got in a fight I would need the 6 to break them up:rolleyes: ,Seems to answer the question

Cheers all,
Rich

I gotta just put in another good word for the 6. I have one tested it, and its one tough @$$ blade!! Edge retention will knock your socks off. as will comfort of the grip. Plus the fact you can allways do the job of a small knife with a big one. But you can't allways do the job of a big knife with a small one. That 2+2 has been workin for me for a Long......time. Have fun out there. enjoy edgy

Now we are talking. The 6 is the flagship knife for a belt knife. It is the standard for someone who uses a knife. Big enough for self defense, wood processing, batoning, and light chopping, small enough for bushcraft, skinning, all basic utility tasks. It is light enough to carry all the time with a great balance of slicing ability and toughness. The 6 is the foundation of what a knife is suppost to be. When I go camping I bring other job specific tools chopping and fine carving for convenience but the 6 is the first tool on the belt and the last off period. It is my good luck charm. I would like to know a reason not to have a 6, this would be interesting. Get one in your hand and really use it for everything as an experiment for a couple weeks than get back to us.

The 6 is my,if I could only pick one knife out of the ESEE lineup, this would be it knife.I like mine alot!;)
