Why are all but 6 threads deleted from the Kitchen Cutlery & Tools forum?

I wanted to read up on some kitchen cutlery topics and found only a handful of threads in that forum. I figured it was new or not used much, but then I started a thread a few weeks ago. Now I checked back an all but 6 threads seem to have been deleted. Why is that?

The threads are all still there.
Check your thread display options at the very bottom of the page and make sure it is set to "beginning"

Thanks. I guess the forum just isn't very active.

edit: oh, those options aren't saved and are reset every time I navigate to a forum.

Are you using some kind of phone app or such that may be hiding older threads. There are over a thousand threads in that forum.

No, I'm using the web site and by default it only shows the threads from the last two weeks (as Karda pointed out). There's a control to change the interval, but that value isn't persisted. It'd just put in the URL, so if I navigate away and then navigate back to the forum, those options are reset.

There are, however, an option for this in my account settings under General Settings > Thread Display Options > Default Thread Age Cut Off:, which I have set to "Use forum default", which apparently is 2 weeks.

Not a problem now that I know how it works.

It resets because your profile is set to view threads by the forum default.

You can change this by going to settings in the upper right. Then click general settings. Youll see view threads drop down box where you can select how far back you want the forums to display threads.
