Why are certain ZT knives discontinued?

I found a ZT 0303 on amazon that said it was a limited edition,rare, and discontinued but I've seem it other places so I wasn't sure if it was a scam ( which would surprise me because I've bought thousands If dollars worth of stuff on amazon and NEVET had ANY problems. So if you know anything about that knife being limited edition let me know because I thought it was a standard production model .
 
I'm fairly certain the 0303 is a limited and discontinued version of the 0300.
 
Are you asking why they discontinue models or if a specific model has been discontinued? :confused:
 
Well both kind of. Is the reason they discontinue any knife because no one was buying it or because it was defective or what? I don't want to buy a discontinued knife of the reason it was discontinued was because it was a poor design. I'm aware that the 0303 is the same knife as other 03xx zt models but I'm jst wondering why it was discontinued.
 
Limited knives get discontinued when they sell out. Poor selling knives get disco'd because they cost more money than they make. Sometimes knives get disco'd when the design license from a maker either runs out or becomes too costly to continue. The reason 0303 was discontinued is because it was a limited edition meant to be exclusive and then become discontinued.
