I am curious why MOD doesnt have more size options like microtech, I have heard alot of complaints from people, that they are to small, I have held a few also, what is the deal with that, wouldnt they think that if they made bigger knives, that they would be able to sell more??, I love the looks of there knives, and the quality is every bit as good as microtech, but I just cant stand a knife that doesnt fit my hand right.., any thoughts on this?:(

Because the knives were designed by people, they all meet a specific niche that designer had in mind. Keating's knife the Stinger was made small as to be unobtrusive and easy to carry, and legal everywhere. MOD saw fit not to alter the original designs-this has been said by the various designers, in many interviews.--Joe

hmmm...don't know why imaging isn't working...

I think he's talking about originals.
Personally, I think they're perfect.
I was getting sick of knives with huge handles.

The CQD is not small, but maybe you are refering to the tempest or trident type kinves, in this case i agree they are too small for me personally as I have a tempest and do not like the feel of the handle.

Shame but maybe they will make larger folders in the future:)

I had a CQD Mark I..that thing was so big(and I wont keep anything that isnt big enough to fill my hand) I let it go, one hell of a knife but too big for me.

I had a Tempest and sold it. The blade was big enough but the handle didn't feel right. Too thin toward the back of the knife. I thought the lock up could have been stronger as well. Still a nice knife though. Just not for me.

I think they lock tight, and I mean darn tight.
tough as nails, as secure as a Sebbie.
I know to each his own, but I'm sold on those.

As others have mentioned, they were designed by many of the well known instructors around the country.

They had size in mind to keep them legal in almost every venue and to meet most state regulations as to length.

They lock up very tight, good solid knives.

They are discontinuing most of that line, so if you want one, better get one while you can.

I don't presently own one myself, having given them to friends for one reason or another.

This X-mas, I'm sending out black bladed new Enduras, plain edge, to friends.

I have to agree with the general consensus: most of the MOD line, except the CQD I of course, is just too small. I have 2 CQD I's, one of them is in my EDC rotation, but all the other MODs I had were eventually traded/sold because they were too small for me.

Can´t agree.
I carry a Hornet and a Tempest in my EDC rotation (which also includes a MT SOCOM and a BM 710-02 as bigger folders), but I like those two MODs very much.
Espacially the Hornet gives a maximum of knife with a minimum of carry size, and so far there had been no situation in which I felt "underequipped" with one of those.

I handled the CQD once, but I think it to be far too big, and my desire to own one was extinguished at the moment I held it in my hand.

hk,
first of all: welcome to the forums.

Please keep in mind that thou shalt not bump 2+ years old threads back to the top. It is considered bad form around these parts.
