Why are most Striders set up for reverse grip edge out?

I noticed in pics of people holding Striders in reverse grip that the grip is with the edge out. And, if you look at the angle ground on the butt of the knives, all (if not most) are set up to facilitate edge out reverse grip. I was wondering why this is? Did it come about as a result of "feild testing" the design?

I ask this because I used to think reverse grip edge otu would be ebst, as you can slash and stuff. But then I read that edge in might be better, as reverse grip knife fighting is a very close in thing to do, and if you have an edge in, when you thrust, your hand moves downward and the edge will cut into your opponent.

Thanks for the input!

If you review the archives in Practical Tactical and the Filipino MA Forums, you will find extensive discussions of reverse grip within the last 6-12 months. Several focus on edge-in vs. edge-out.

Thanks Eskrimador1 and DancesWithKnives! Your input is much appreciated.

DWK: I have read the threads you mentioned. I am curious why Mick and Duane make their knives this way. :)

Made for War =
Sharp, pointy parts toward enemy.
Safe warm parts toward self.

More on this soon

with the reverse grip you can KILL THINGS...
of course the regular grip as long as it is GI JOE approved will do a comendable job dispatching the bad guys!
