I am becoming obsessed, but man they are expensive. Just got an old Pal. Couldn't resist.

Hey there Dan, I have just missed out on a Remington Easy opener-of which I am sure a lot of people had their eyes on...I think that they are such a beautiful knife, made in the era when knives were made by elite companies, had all the right steels, scales and quality, fit and finish, and aesthetically wise...just perfect!

I was watching the one I think you are talking about. Out of my league, but man what a knife. That fat main blade. Jeez. I get what you're saying, but it seems like the easy opens go for more than other patterns of the same vintage and materials???

You ain't kidding. But it doens't make me stop some reason. I paid $160 for that Remington UMC R893 circa 1920 - 1923. I probably overpaid, but I might never see that model come around again so to me it was well worth it.

They were working knives, so there aren't a lot of them out there in good shape, they are popular with collectors and it was a Remington. Triple whammy there.

Here's a Winchester:

I've been searching Easy Open Jacks (over 3") and never found anything suitable for my price range on seller who could ship them into Finland. However, I am glad that Forum Knife 2011 will be easy open jack like that, just with the pen blade replace can opener tool. Mike that Winchester is gorgeous!

They do go for crazy prices but they are great looking knives. Wish I had a few. The Wilbert used as the pattern for the forum knife
is one of the best knives I've ever seen.

Quick sweep of the house and i found a few of my EO Jacks lying around here 'n there. I have more but they're hiding from me.

I began buying these about 2-3 years ago, av. price ~ $20. Rare to see an unused EO Jack. The WW II vintage Camillus and Imperials were very well made and even used ones usually still snap well and none of all the knives shown have even a hint of blade play.

@roland: Wow... this is a very nice collection. I´d like to have one of that knives...

Kind regards
Andi

I dunno, Roland. . . . . . I think you need a few more!!

Amazing Winchester, Mikey!! Pure collector's heaven!!

Now we know why, Roland has most of them and the ones he doesn't have Charlie owns. Slim pickins for the rest of us.

That Winchester is mighty fat pickin's, Mike! I'm sure Roland would trade you 4 or 5 of his for your Win!
So would a lot of us!!;)

LOL.

That all makes sense. Yeah, I don't know why, but recently I have been looking at them REAL hard. Just such a nice pattern.

Corey, so you bought that Remington. I'm glad one of us did. :)

I had thought that Barlows had my heart, until I picked up a Camillus EO WWII era bone handled knife.

Now my search has taken a new direction...

And now I know who got that Pal. Good to know who's on the other side of the bidding fence...;)

LOL. I'll post pics of mine if you post pics of yours. It is funny. I often wonder how often we are bidding against each other. Stoked you got that Remington. It deserves a good home. The Pal, too. :)

Damn...did you get that Remington Corey...you bugger, but good on ya mate  thats a stunner-please..could you show us the knife when it gets to you?
