This forum is mainly composed of knife collectors who often have some pricy knives. If they work for you that's great! I have no doubt that they cannot cut like many other knives.

However, this is like asking a cigar forum why Black & Milds are frowned upon:) Try out a Spyderco sometime, you'll like it:thumbup:

Every Tac-Force I've ever seen has been a poorly made knife out of bottom rung materials. That and they are 100% mall ninja fare.

It's not that they are "frowned upon" as much as they are seen for what they are.

This is a knife enthusiast forum, so most people here have used many knives in many price ranges and have no problem seperating the good knives from knives.

I don't think it's the brand, it's people trying to make it seem like more than what it is.

Because they are garbage.

The ergonomics, materials, and aesthetics of any Tac Force make the cheapest of BigBoxMart Gerbers look like high end customs.

Poor construction
Poor and inconsistent heat treats of sub par blade steels
Poor warranty

The old, ya get what ya pay for; even at their price point there are better alternatives.

When you say better alternatives do yiu mean something like m tech?

You should try them both and let the forums know. Welcome to Bladeforums, I hope you spend a long time here and get to know more about knives.

I thought m tech ranked right next to tac force ill try a m tech knife sometime thanks

I was teasing, mtech isn't good really. Try a Kershaw. There's nice ones for about $20. I really like the oso sweet model.

Try the Ontario rat (arguable the forums favorite $25 knife), Spyderco, Buck, Case, or Kershaw for excellent budget knives. You'll never buy another tac again.

Also learn to freehand sharpen on stones or get a spyderco sharpmaker.
