Why are the CR knives sold out almost everywhere?

I noticed that most vendors are out of stock on Sebenzas, I was wondering why that's the case. Is it always like this or are they waiting for a "new batch" to come in?

One possible reason is there was just a price increase across the CRK line, everyone may be buying up the old stock that's at the old price.

What was the old price and what is the new price? Is $485 too much for a large sebenza or is it actually reasonable?

485 for one with inlays/graphics is reasonable but not for the standard 21. large sebenza 21 is 410$ small is 350$. they were 385$ and 330$

Their just that good. Everyone wants one or ten.:D

Amen. Seems to me as the more CRK knives get into new people's hands, there are more users and collectors out there keeping demand high.

I just dropped five big ones on a large sebenza w/ graphics.... I feel so guilty and happy at the same time. But after hearing about how magical this knife is I just had to join the club.

I resemble that remark :D

Indeed you do and I'll happily continue to accept your hand me downs (the large is doing well)......well, maybe not in the immediate future-my next purchase is an XM-18, but after that..........:-)

I think ,for what ever reason CRK was not re-stocking the dealers. I have been checking a couple dealers over the last few months, that usually have a very large stock, and their stock has been slowly dwindling to almost nothing now. It could have to do with the new pricing, re-tooling or something else(I am just guessing)
As for the secondary market, I think that is Lisa LOL. She has beat me to at least one knife and it might have been more.

I second that, i think she picked up most of the sales for the 1st/2nd quarter of 2011 :P hahaha.

i feel that demand is higher than supply. People are just buying more than CRK can put out. i just hope i can pick up a few more before the price increases again :D

As a lefty, I'm in our own LH model hunt race. Of course there are fewer of us, but naturally fewer LH CRK are produced so it isn't easy.

I just paid up for a left hand Large Regular Seb (yay!). It will be joining my EDC rotation with Snakewood Mnandi, small 21, and Star-Benza. (of course all LH)

If you are a patient man, you can order exactly what you want from Chris Reeve Knives directly, just go to their website for the info. I would personally suggest it for multiple reasons. First, you get exactly what you want for the best price available, and Secondly, you get an opportunity to get to know the wonderful staff that answers the phones. It will make you even more proud to own a Chris Reeve Knife. There are benefits to being patient my friend.

i saved the kit and kaboodle picture you posted on my phone, so it makes me envious everyday, hahaha :P i want that custom handle insigno you put up too, but i just got an umnum >.<

Even though the CRK's have been rather vacant on websites, i feel they're still staying pretty steady in the selling section here. It'd be great if St. James let go of some of his collection(i think he owns half of the entire CRK collection :P)

Yeah, let's pick on him :D LOL....I think his collection was one of them that spurred me on...hehe.

Anyone who's tired of getting picked on for having too many CRKs is welcome to send some my way. I don't mind!
