Why are there so few passarounds on this site?

This is one of the largest forum sites that I have been a member of. It has many thousands of active members, and a presence by many of the manufacturers of the knives that we use. I just can't figure out why there are so few passarounds. I ether am or have been a member of quite a few smaller forum sites in several different hobby categories. Watches, flashlights, radio control, etc., and most of those sites even though they were smaller, had quite a few more passarounds than I have seen on BladeForums.

I'm just wondering why that is? It seems that the manufacturers would WANT to have people evaluating and discussing their products. I know that KAI has donated knives for this reason in the past (Before they left the forums), and I believe that Spyderco has done the same to some extent. But these have been pretty few and far between considering the size of this forum.

Any ideas why?

Because we are all knife "nuts" of some kind or another, and they just want "sane" people to pass judgement on their products? ;)

They all must be selling their knives at a satisfactory level? I'd love to be part of one though. Would much rather spend a little money on shipping and know what I do and don't like without buying everything in sight.

There was a time when there were plenty of passarounds going on with high dollar production knives and customs.

There's a passaround subforum here somewhere...
