why aren't there more "banana knives"?

Banana's don't have very good edge holding properties.

Is Banana shape like a skinner? It has been suggested here on the forums before that recurves have some cutting advantage but are probably harder to sharpen.
 
It doesn't seem particularly unique to me. Just looks like a clip point with a decent belly on it.
 
I think it's too weird a shape for most, closest you can come is the upswept skinning knives, and the scimtar blade that shows up on custom butterflys, and the discontinued Monarch Skinning knife by Benchmade.
 
The people who live in regions that grow bananas cant afford those expensive American knives!!!! :p
