Why Blue? (and other matters)

Okay, this one has been making my brain itch for a LONG time, and I can't stand it any more.

Why does the C/P shop offer BLUE liners? I mean, why not red, green, black, etc. Why exclusively blue, which to my eyes, doesn't really go with the black G10, and REALLY doesn't go with green G10.

Seems to me that red would look MUCH better. Is there a manufacturing reason for blue, or is it just cause Ernie likes blue?

The "other matters" are,
I'm truly envious of all you guys that got to go to Atlanta, both for getting to see so much great new stuff first hand, and the opportunity to meet so many other Usual Suspects. John gets my "Green with Envy" award for actually getting to man the EKI booth. (hope you got pics of yourself working the booth John!)

Hopefully, I'll be able to make it next year and I've GOTTA get a couple sets of those Crush grip thingys. I've got a whole year to work on it, and nothing motivates me more than the thought of free knives!

Again, congrats to all that made it to Atlanta, sounds like you had a blast!

The liners being Titanium, the process to create colors will not yield black or red.
The colors that work the best will be, straw brown--blue--purple--yellow--teal and I think one other in the high voltage range.

Hope this helps

LOL Actually, no I didn't.

I was so busy that I barely got pictures of the new models and most of the Suspects. Just for the record . . . I had a blast!

What I'd really like to know is how many times I waved Commanders, Mini-Cs, Waved Sevens, SOCFKs, SARKS, ect. We need to develop a "Wave-ometer" that can keep track of that kind of thing.

Oh . . . the Anodized liners are available in Blue, Green and Gold. I'd like to see Red as well.

So the color is created through tempering?
I assumed it was some sort of anodizing or treatment like Black T or such.

The process is anodizing, color or oxidation is attained by passing voltage through a part that is submersed in a solution, you get different colors at different voltages.

I LIKE the blue with the G10! My Tanto is like that. It's kinda subtle, but nice.
