why can I not see any of my sent PM's?

My sent pm's don't seem to save - if I click on the link there are none there.

Do I need to activate somthing (preferences?) in order to see or save sent pm's?

You do have to enable that. Click settings (top right) then click Gen. settings on the left and you will see an option to save sent messages.
